Feeding Instructions

Adult Cat: Feed about 1 can per 8 lbs of body weight per day.

Kitten: Feed up to twice the amount as Adults.

Gestation & Lactation: Feed up to 3 times the normal Adult amount.

Transition Instructions

For sensitive pets, begin by introducing a small amount of the FirstMate in with the old food on the first day; then, gradually increase the amount of the new food, decreasing the amount of the old food, over the course of a week until they are eating exclusively FirstMate.

Our products contain natural ingredients without the addition of artificial coloring or binders. As a result, you may note variation in the appearance of our products between batches.

Chicken Fat and Chicken Allergies:

Our bodies and our pet’s bodies react differently with proteins and fats. An allergy is caused by the bodies reaction with the protein of what we’ve come in contact with. Our chicken fat is free of chicken protein and will therefore not cause a reaction for those animals with a chicken allergy.

Do you use GMO ingredients?

No, FirstMate and Kasiks do not contain GMO ingredients.

What is a meal? How does it compare to a fresh meat?

Chicken meal is a concentrated source of chicken protein in which most of the moisture and some of the fat has been removed. Meals such as these provide nearly 4 times more protein than the fresh ingredients.

Fantastic!

I have been trying to hide Plaque off in something, anything and my two kittens wouldn't eat anything. Even mixed in Churu, and tuna juice. When I bought this and took a tiny fork full, mixed the tiny bit in with it....SUCCESS!! Both kittens liked the bowl clean. I am so grateful. I ended up calling FirstMate directly to ask how long a can of food can be opened and she gave me so many tips and wisdom. Like taking part of the can and put in into mini ice cube trays and freeze, then I can pull out what I need for a couple days. Also a fun summer treat for cats. FirstMate is my new favorite company for canned food rotations.

Finicky cats

I would love to give this cat food a better review but unfortunately 7 out of 8 of my cats don't like it. They didn't like the Turkey or the Salmon or the Chicken either. It smells good and has a nice consistency but I think my cats are too stuck on fancy feast.

Some good features

My 4yr old has some sensitivity issues and is addicted to tune. I'm using this product to try to wean her off of an imported product (which I don't trust). Unfortunately, she is not crazy about this one and I can't seem to get her past 50:50 with the old product. I like that it has limited ingredients, but wish there were no potatoes or parsley in it.
