Questions & Answers

9 Customer Questions

Why aren’t the heart shaped supplements in this one?

Answer by ChewyAug 11, 2025
This food does not contain the AFS (Active Fresh System) kibble (Hearts) because it does not contain the blend of botanicals put in the cold-pressed heart tablets in other products. The reason for this is that this product is designed to provide support with IBD, and Forza10 tries to keep the recipe as limited in ingredients as possible.

Approx. how many cups are there in the 22lb bag? Thank you.

Answer by ChewyApr 09, 2022
There are approximately 4 cups of food per pound.

What fish oil and fish protein is in this diet?

Answer by ChewyNov 03, 2020
Forza10 Active exclusively uses small fish (anchovies or herrings), captured in the open sea and processed whole, and particularly rich in precious poly-unsaturated fatty acids. These fishes not only feature exceptional digestibility and protein values, but also offer the natural characteristic of transforming fat into muscle, helping to develop a lean and muscular body.

What’s the carb percentage?

Answer by ChewySep 21, 2019
This recipe has an approximate carbohydrate content of 44% as fed and 48.9% on a dry matter basis.

This food was a gamechanger for a dog with suspected (not diagnosed) upper GI IBS and likely chicken or some other ingredient allergy. It has never, from the beginning, caused symptoms (loud stomach noises, sometimes vomiting sometimes mucus/blood in otherwise normal stool, and lack of appetite for a day or two) that she normally has within 24-48 hrs of eating most other food or found scraps, human or otherwise. We tried several hydrolyzed prescription diets which were not only expensive but had their own set of untolerable side effects. I am reading now in these reviews that this food has changed the recipe to include chicken, but this is not reflected on current label of the bag I just received. I have noted that the bag labels have change within the past year. I don't know if this is allowed in the review - but for those of you that this food worked for, and no longer does - I recently found my dog tolerates Go! Solutions skin+coat duck formula pretty well, so recommend giving that a shot.

The original food helped immensely with my pup’s diarrhea and gas. I decided to try it even though they recently added chicken to the recipe. The food still helps with diarrhea/gas but now my pup’s skin and paws are red and itchy. Unfortunately I’m going to have to look for a new food for my dog.

The old Colon Diet Phase 1 recipe was a miracle food for my pup with digestive issues. It firmed his stool and allowed me to give him treats with out 'issues' for the first time in years. However, the recipe seems to have been discontinued and this is the replacement which is very different and further down the ingredients list it has hydrolyzed poultry protein. My dog has always been allergic to poultry and the old recipe did not have it in. Maybe this will work for your dog but it is not a good replacement for the original recipe. So, I am on the search again for a replacement ...

This used to be the holy grail for my dogs and was the one food they always had solid poops with. The most recent bag had the new label on it and the food smelled very different. I presume they changed the recipe because it gave both of my dogs explosive diarrhea.

I had been purchasing this food for my dachshund who has colitis for about a year with great results. The item was discontinued and repackaged, with the same ingredients according to the site, but now his colitis is back in full force. I believe the formulation must have changed with the repackaging. Unfortunately I have to now find a different alternative .

Unfortunately, after feeding this to my IBD dog for a couple years with great success, they changed the formula and discontinued the original. We tried to transition her to it, just to see and it completely backed her up, increased her stool frequency and volume, and caused her to strain. The new formula has 9% fiber and the old had 5%, which is quite the increase. It also has poultry now which can be hit or miss for sensitive dogs. This could work for others, but it no longer works for mine.

FORMULATION CHANGE IN 2025

Buyer beware that this new and "improved" formulation has changed the ratio of grains and added hydrolyzed poultry protein. Our senior dog has extreme GI issues

Buyer beware that this new and "improved" formulation has changed the ratio of grains and added hydrolyzed poultry protein. Our senior dog has extreme GI issues and we had finally found a food that he did very well on for years, but will now be back on the hunt for a new food since they decided to cheapen their ingredients for profit. Boggles my mind they would change a formulation specifically for IBD when even small changes can cause intense symptoms, let alone add chicken/poultry when that's one of the first things vets tell you to eliminate if your dog has allergies. Very disappointed. I've attached the old ingredients with the new ingredients for comparison.

I did a lot of research to see if there was a kibble variety that would help with my dogs digestive issues. We’ve been battling issues for the better part of the year since we got her at four months old. We determined early on that she had allergies to chicken and beef but as of late I think that allergy has extended to all poultry products. After filing a strict regiment of eliminating these things from her diet, I needed something to heal her gut. After 48 hours, she finally has solid stools, and her appetite has returned. We’ve noticed a significant decrease in her itchiness. She really enjoys the flavor as well.
