This is a decent playpen for your pup. The only thing I don't like about it is that most people set it up on a hard surface because of potty training. It slides all over while Jr pup tries to get out. Although our boxer pup failed at any escape attempt, she was able to move the whole 8 panel pen clear across our kitchen. After a week of repositioning, she finally stopped. You will need to put something heavy in front of several of the panels to keep them from moving. If paced on carpet, it's perfect after potty training. So on a good note, boxer never escaped.
Awkward height, wish the plastic was a bit tougher, flimsy
This was the perfect size for our apartment. We could easily section off entire areas or set this up as a stand alone pen.however, if only using a couple pieces to section off an area, you need to secure it somehow as it can't really support its own weight. I'm 5'6 and my husband is 5'8 and we could not step over this, even on tiptoes, without accidentally injuring delicate bits. I could sort of squeeze through the small door but it's not really great trying to do that multiple times. Now that our dog is trained this isn't an issue as she comes when called and will go in when told but as a puppy it was rough. Our mini dachshund chewed through the plastic with her milk teeth and we had to constantly make sure she wasn't swallowing small chunks. Who needs bones or treats or toys when you have a plastic fence! This also doesn't pack down easily or transport easily. We figured out a system with bungee cords but we'll probably order something else soon.
I have a 6-month old mini goldendoodle. When I put her in her dog crate (24x36) when I had to go run errands the Furbo alert would go off on my phone multiple times to alert me that she was barking. I start work next week and one of my girlfriends suggested getting her a playpen. I set it up in my living room and put all her toys plus her dog crate with an open door inside. Not One single Bark alert when I go run my errands now! Just having the additional space to run around has made all the difference for her. Thank you! I am living in an apartment for my first year in FL, and this works perfectly so she can't damage anything and my neighbors won't hear any barking. I highly recommend this !!!
The playpen was easy to assemble. I like the looks of it, we have two older dogs who mostly sleep in the pen. Would not recommend it for strong, playful dogs, not too sturdy. I would suggest a bigger gate, a walk through gate, so you would not have to crawl through a small opening (too small for an adult person) to retrieve items from the pen.
We love this playpen! Easily adjustable for whatever configuration is needed. We use this in conjunction with a dog crate to give our two small dogs extra room for their basic needs (water bowl and space to relieve themselves) at nighttime. We put a washable pee pad underneath the whole set up and everything works great.
Dog playpen broken
Dog pen was broken upon arrival, probably got damaged while on delivery but other than that it is very easy to put together, takes about 5 mins or less to be honest. I would not recommend big dogs in these plastic pens, they will just knock it over with ease. I dont know if its worth the price but it does the job for smaller pets. Just be careful to not drop it cause it could brake.
Lightweight and flimsy
The pen is large - but the panels and joints are very flimsy. The rubber feet are tiny and offer little traction. An 8-week basset pup had no problem pushing the pen around. Putting it on carpet would help, but if you use it on hard surfaces you will need to weigh it down with something. I ended up returning the item.
My dog and I love her play pen/crate
Ellie, my dog and I love her pen. She goes in with out any coaxing weather it’s to eat/ drink or sleep. She’s loves it! It’s also her get away place. I only close the door at night or when I have to be gone for awhile.
Great to keep dogs out...
I use the gate pieces to keep the dog out of rooms that the cat still needs access to. It's been great.
5 lb puppy jumps on panels and panels move across room. He can push on door a few times and locks will give way and he escapes. My 20 lb dog can tip over panels causing them to fold in on pets.
