wow it’s big
Yeah it’s definitely perfect for a BBL cat. The cushion and steps are so big and it’s heavy. It seems good quality but I will update this review after it’s in use for a whole. The fabric is thin I guess but not bad quality. I’m a 5ft person and I was able to assemble it on my own with the help of a chair and a step stool and I managed it ok. Before assembly I suggest you decide the placement of the attachments and the location of the tree bc it is hard to adjust after building.
Great idea but for lower weight cats
My cats "Jimmy" and "Jackie" are 2 awesome cats! We've tried other cat trees but thought that this would be the one. The photos will show it's wear after one year. It's a sturdy tree but the attachment at the top is not secure enough. Maybe if it was made from a sturdy rubber to conform to your ceiling, so it will not slide. I've almost had a heart attack watching my cats climb up on to the tree and it appears to almost topple over! Also the cloth cover for the poles tends to slide down which could be secured better with a non-toxic glue maybe. There are some parts of the tree that do need more thought put into the design. All in all it is a good choice for your cats.
This might work to help secure pole.
I don’t have this particular cat tree, but I do have one that has a turn/tension feature to help secure the pole. I ended up using a bike / tool hanger to prevent it from falling sideways when my cats would jump on it. I also use a shim to keep it secured to the ceiling. Again, this is just a thought.
King of their Domain
My 2 cats absolutely love this tree. They are condo kitties and don't get out, so they have birds eye view of the neighborhood ( 7th floor). The top assembly of the tree took a minute to figure out but it is sturdy. Our cats love it so much, we bought one for our son's cat in his apartment.
Not good quality
This cat tower is very awkward and poorly designed. Really needed a tension rod to affix to the ceiling. Instead it's this weird plastic cylinder thing you are supposed to tighten against the ceiling. Doesn't work. Its wobbly and the tower can fall. I had to affix to the ceiling with alien tape. The covering is cheap and my cats will only occupy the bottom bed because the higher up shelves are not big enough. There are definitely better cat towers out there.
Nice cat tower
This was relatively easy to put together. I wish that the cat bed part was interchangeable and could be used in the middle section, or higher up. I'll only have one 9 lb cat using it, so it should be sturdy enough, but I agree with the others that say it could be sturdier.
Our Cats Love It
My husband set this up by one of our front windows, it replaced an older freestanding cat tree that had been loved a lot. It was relatively simple to set up and it has a very nice clean sleek look to it. We ended up only using two out of the three platforms as our ceilings are rather low in that area. No problem so far due to the platform’s removal. It’s been a few months since setup and it’s holding up well. Our window watcher is really enjoying it, he uses the bottom cushioned platform for napping. The rope wrapped around the bottom pillar is lasting well even with daily use as a scratching post. The platforms are easy to clean with a hand vac, cat hair doesn’t seem to cling to the fabric like the ones covered in regular carpet do. Glad to have bought this.
We wish we could recommend this item!
This is our third -- and tallest! -- cat tree ordered from Chewy. This line of products is super easy to assemble. Our three cats love the height and having three resting places. BUT...it's not holding together. The carpet on the tree is really thin and the kittens have clawed it away from the poles in most places. Also, our ceiling is ruined. Not sure how to make the top less abrasive to the ceiling...while installing and as the cats use the tree. We really like the item, just can't recommend based on quality of the fabric/sturdiness.
Sturdy, floor to ceiling fun.
I purchased this as a space saver, and also so my two boys had a platform to see out the windows in my bedroom. It is well made, easy to assemble. Easily fits my 9’ ceiling(with spare parts for a taller ceiling) my only caveat is the exposed folds and staples on the bottom of the platforms; not the cleanest look, but it passes. My senior boy(13) LOVES the bed, and the sisal bottom. The 7 year old is tubby, so neither has spent much time on the higher levels, but I will keep enticing them.
Excellent cat tree!!!
My cat Ash loves it. Was playing on it as I was putting it together. It was so easy to put together. Friends actually comment on how nice it looks. Definitely recommend this one. Great price.
