We took the boys from WA state to CA in the car and used these to keep them safely in the backseat for the drive. We tit the two cats and a small litterbox in without difficulty! The cats aren’t small either, Sabby is chonky (16lbs) and Sesame is young but he is tall. The reasons I’m leaving off a star are as follows: The bottom provided is foam, which gives you no support when carrying the animals outside of the car. The other thing is that the mesh on the sides is a bit flimsy, our little Sesame managed to tear a couple of holes within the first hour of the trip. All in all, solid purchase, worth the price. I just wish there was a harder insert for the bottom (yeah I’ll just go buy something I guess) and the mesh could stand to be a little tougher. Then again, maybe I should have given the kitten more relaxation treats.

I recently purchased this crate to transport my 2 cats (9.5 lbs and 6.5 lbs, respectively) about 3.5 hours in my moderately-sized hatchback. It fit perfectly in my backseat and I was able to easily fit a blanket, pee pad, and some toys, all the while still leaving them plenty of room to lay down and turn around comfortably. I will definitely be using this crate for any and all future long-term trips with the girls!

The Cats Had Plenty of Room and Were Secure

I'm so glad I bought this for the three-day drive to Canada at the beginning of the summer and then three days back. I bought it a couple of months before I was traveling so I could leave it out in the house so they'd get used to it. Initially I had it in two separate compartments and both cats hung out in it. When it came time to leave I decided to zip the compartments together even though it took up a lot of room in the back. I had to put the SUV seat down to carry everything I was taking with me, but that wedged in the crate very securely, and with plenty of ventilation. I had room to put a mat with food and water bowls as well. The kitties curled up together and I hardly heard a peep out of them. It was easy to transfer them into their Sherpa carriers to get them safely into the hotels. Really well-designed, sturdy, and easy to clean too. I left it assembled for the whole time I was in the rental house and they used it as a safe space cave. Thank you to the gentleman from Chewy who advised me to buy this!

Great for Long Road Trips

I moved across America recently and purchased this to keep my babies contained! It worked really well and I had no issues. It even fit a small, corner litterbox

I moved across America recently and purchased this to keep my babies contained! It worked really well and I had no issues. It even fit a small, corner litterbox with plenty of room leftover for my babies. Only downsides are that there is nothing to hold the shape when one of the doors is opened and the mat that is there for cushioning doesn’t Velcro in place. I did not use the hammocks that came with this as there isn’t enough structural integrity to the carriers to have any weight put on them.

Great travel crate, some critiques

My cats love this thing. Kept them safe and comfortable during a cross-country trip. Only downside is that it's very bulky so it's difficult to get it into and out

My cats love this thing. Kept them safe and comfortable during a cross-country trip. Only downside is that it's very bulky so it's difficult to get it into and out of your vehicle. I'd recommend having on hand anything that can clip the zippers closed, too. My orange cat is an escape artist, and he knows how zippers work. Once he realized how many were on there, he unzipped it and got out in the car while I was on I-40. All of the zipper sections have two clasps to zip with, so clipping those together would be a very good idea for anyone else with crafty cats. I honestly wish it came with clips for that but alas it did not. Still, good crate! 4/5.

Very unsafe for car

Within the first day of use, the connecting zipper stopped working making us only able to use one side of the carrier for two cats. Then they broke out of the zipper

Within the first day of use, the connecting zipper stopped working making us only able to use one side of the carrier for two cats. Then they broke out of the zipper closures multiple times, leading us to need to lock each zipper closed. And THEN, they simply pushed their way through the zipper closure despite the lock, pulling them apart WHILE we were driving. We had to stop at a pet store to get a new carrier that was safer (and honestly cheaper) I would never recommend this carrier.

Car seats for my babies

I have a two dogs, 9lbs and 13lbs, that travel short distance in the car daily. These are perfect car seats to keep them safe and calm, and protect my car seats

I have a two dogs, 9lbs and 13lbs, that travel short distance in the car daily. These are perfect car seats to keep them safe and calm, and protect my car seats. They can be connected but my dogs prefer their own space. Both sides of each individual section have openings. one zips over the complete edge, and one unzips an arch shape. I prefer the arch shape opening for my dogs to enter and exit.

Love this! Best purchase yet for my Bassett Hound. She can fully stretch out. I had additional vinyl pads (water proof) made for it. Original floor pads very thin. Fits easily on nd can be secured with seat belts. She sleeps in it on my bed at night to avoid any accidents and prevent any jumping on & off bed. Highly recommend! I joined the two sections together to make one long enclosure. Just as pictured on the advertisement.
