The collapsable sides sounded like a good idea, but our little guy likes to stand on the edge of the seat to see out the window, which causes the velcro to come loose and the side caves in. Then he gives up and leans over it to put his head in the arm rest. I think it's best for tiny dogs, or dogs that don't like to look out. He's only 14 lbs, but his weight is mostly in the front end. The pockets are handy.
Perfect! Comfy and raises up my little fur baby (Mini Aussie) so he can see out the window. Love the treat/poo bag pockets and he loves it too! He is not anxious anymore and knows this is his special place. I did put a little dog bed and blanket inside it for lifting him alittle higher and for added comfort, but it really wasn’t necessary. This is the first time he slept while in a car ride, in total bliss.
I really wanted to secure my dog in a way that would allow her to still look out the window, so this is perfect. It was hard to find something for a dog that isn't tiny (under 20#), but this holds up to 30# & she is in between the two. She has enough room to curl up and get cozy if she wants to nap but can also see out and be safely secured at the same time. This booster seat has a slit across the rear bottom that allows the seat belt to go through and a collar/harness clip that keeps them from jumping out of it. It's been a great purchase and I would recommend.
I got this seat for my Heeler/Pibble mix and due to the reviews, I was expecting it to be an issue using it with a shoulder seatbelt. I am going to be honest, I think the people complaining about the shoulder seatbelt are encountering a lot of user error. What I did to make this work is extend the seatbelt through the bottom, buckled it, and then made sure to pull the rest of the seatbelt at the top until it locked. I then let the seatbelt tighten on its own and the car seat hasn’t moved. My dog is so incredibly happy with this and being able to see! She feels very secure and saves
I got this car seat to help take my golden retriever puppy places and I love it! It's big enough for her to get a decent amount of use out of it before she gets too big and it's well made so we can save it for if we get another pup. We had to take the cover off the cushion to stop her from pulling all the fuzz off but if your dog isn't a chewer it should be totally fine! . The only other (kind of) downside is even when the tether is shortened all the way, my pup was able to get herself on the outside of the car seat and I had to pull over to put her back in -- if you have a dog that's not trying to move all over the car then that should be no biggie too! I've used this for short drives like to the vet and also longer trips to visit family in another state. So far this is a sturdy and dependable car seat!
Luna has always just ridden shotgun but we are planning a road trip so I wanted something to keep her safe and secure. It is very easy to install, and she is comfortable and content! She is a small/medium dog and I'm glad I got the larger size!
SOOO glad that I bought this! My Frenchie used to be great in the car. Suddenly he would get scared and whiney. It seemed like he would be car sick or anxious as well. He no longer would sit still and would be crying/howling the entire car ride. I got this booster seat for him and IMMEDIATELY saw a change. Now when he gets in the car, he goes straight into his car seat and waits for me to attach the leash to his harness. There’s more than enough room for him to lay down on his side or stand/sit to look out the window. He’ll sleep in it or stand up using the sides as leverage to see what’s going on. My dog is about 27lbs and 1yr & 10mos old for reference. I got the large for extra room for a blankie. Honestly, you could probably fit another dog of the same size in it with him.
Love this I bought 2 of the Large size ones quite a few months ago and Our little guy was being tossed around so I contacted chewy asked them if I could return the one that wasn't open yet and they told me to donate it! I was stuffing the other one with blankets but I stll didn't feel it was safe enough. I just purchased this one it's PERFECT 100% I gave the other large one to a coworker for her new pup! Thanks chewy Your the Best
Easy to secure my small dog's harness with the seat's tether. Storage pouches on outside are useful for storing wipes, treats, etc. "Threading" the seat belt through the channel on the underside took a minute or two, but it seems to keep the booster seat securely in place; no problems with rural or city driving. I don't yet know how securely it would protect the dog in the event of a collision--don't want to find out the hard way, but didn't find much info when I first searched a little. The dog vastly prefers this to being constrained in his soft-sided mesh-zippered-top carrying case. He can see any of the family on the ride. He has also been able to walk out of the seat onto the adjacent bench, but can only go a small distance. The tether limits how far he could explore or fall. If this becomes a bigger problem, I may shorten the tether length or clip it to another harness location.
This worked very well for my 5 month old frenchie. Large and roomy enough for her to lay down and grown in to. My only complaint is the sides. They velcro on but she likes to stand on the side so they cave in. Other than that, I would highly recommend this for you doggo.
