Can this be used with a collar or just a harness?
Answer by ChewyApr 06, 2021
While this restraint can be clipped to a collar, we do not recommend using it that way. In the event of a sudden halt, pressure would be applied to the dog’s neck and could potentially injure/choke your pet. With this being the case, we suggest only using a harness with this restraint.

My dog is 50 lbs and he likes to lay on the floor of the car or stick his head out the window. Will this allow a dog to sleep on the ground too?
Answer by ChewyMay 05, 2021
The dog car headrest restraint with seat belt lets your pet lie down and get comfortable. It does not allow a dog to stick their head out of the window. It can also be used as a leash.

Is this good for a 70 lb Golden Retriever?
Answer by ChewyMay 09, 2021
This seat belt is good for most dogs weighing 4 to 60 pounds.

Answer by ChewySep 22, 2021

Great for dogs who get tangled in regular seat belt leashes

I bought these after using regular seat belt dog leashes since my dog would often get her legs wrapped up in them or become tangled. These seem to be very sturdy and attach easily to the head rest in the car. They also have a locking mechanism on the buckle to keep them from coming undone. My dog has done very well with this and seems to be comfortable, no longer getting tangled. She is still able to move around my back seat and lay down just as she could with the regular seat belt buckle leashes.

Very Useful!

These are great! Firstly I ordered two and apparently they come two to a pack so I've got four now? They're definitely affordable as well which is a perk My beagles are bad about stepping on the window buttons and rolling them down or locking us out ect if we leave the car on we get out of it (we like to leave it on so they'll have ac). The big dogs never do this, but the beagles are terrible about it. They've even jumped out the car! We travel with them a lot so it's important that they don't do that... These have solved the problem. We usually have the seats down to give the dogs more room, but when we have to use these, we will keep one of the back seats up and attach whichever beagle we've got with us to it when we leave the car. We can't use it in the front because they can still reach the buttons, but that's okay. It's worth the compromise. We were so concerned about this coming summer. Not anymore! We've used them on two or three excursions so far and loved the product.

This restraint is just what I was looking for

I have a 57 lb dog who likes to sit up and look out the window as well as take a snooze on a longer trip. This restraint allows her to do both comfortably yet stay safe if I need to brake abruptly. I would recommend that it be used with a harness like the Chai's Choice Premium Quick Release Outdoor Adventure 3M Polyester Reflective Front Clip Dog Harness that I use as this provides coverage of her entire chest to help disperse strain and also has a clip on the back on which to easily fasten the restraint. Only four stars because at one point she was able to maneuver it so that she could pull a leg out of her harness.

Excited to use this

This arrived really quickly and looks like it will be great for me and my pup. She is still really small so I have it as tight as it will go, but I already like it a lot from the couple of times we have used it. Nice that it comes in a pack of two!

Happy with these.

I am very pleased with these headrest seat belts. We have a puppy that rides in a basket fastened to the console of my truck. She is now very secure with the head rest seat belt hooked on to her harness when traveling. They don’t interfere with the passenger or the driver if you put it on that side. If I forgot a leash I could use this in a pinch. Happy I found these. Fast coming and all around happy. Great quality.

What I received works good

Not sure about the "Seatbelt" part. I only received one piece that goes over the headrest. That works pretty good. Keeps dog from my side of the car, but he keeps going off of the seat

Perfect for the car

I have two standard poodles and these are perfect for them to ride in their harnesses in the back seat. Long enough for them to stand, sit or lie down, but not long enough for them to be thrown forward if I have to stop quickly. Wish I had found these sooner.

Dog chewed right through it

Like the title says, my dog chewed straight through this seat belt on its first use. It took him less than a minute and then he was back in the front seat on my lap. I gave it two stars because it did hold him back while it was intact. Maybe it would work for a dog that isn't as dedicated to escaping, but it is definitely not chew-proof.

don't worry about back seat drivers

puppy took to it right away. Lay down and never tried to fight it, it seemed to give her a secure feeling.

Great Multipurpose Bungee Leash

I bought three restraints for my dog in my car -- This bungee style, a leash that locks into the seatbelt slot, and one that is a chew-proof cable leash that can connect to a car seat mount. One of these is better than the other two put together. The bungee makes it much more comfortable for your pup during mild sudden stops. In addition, your dog can pull against the bungee as he sits/stands, so he exercises a little while riding. Also, it is perfect for taking out of the car at a dog-friendly/patio restaurant and quickly snapping around anything like a table leg or small tree. It is much easier to "tie off" than a normal leash.
