To get the most accurate size harness for your pet, measure the girth of their chest, around the widest part of your dog's torso right behind the front legs, with a cloth tape measure. Pull the cloth tape snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there's enough room for about two fingers between the harness and your pet's chest for comfort.

Leash slips off chest clip
By Debbie on Feb 4, 2021
I want to love this harness but it has flaws. Our pup has a large deep chest, yet he’s very skinny, so we bought this harness because it’s very adjustable. The harness has a clip on top of the dogs back or in front on the dogs chest which helps if they are pulling. That is a feature we absolutely need! 4 times now his leash has come unclasped from the front chest clip, while walking by a busy road! It terrified me because my pup is still learning commands and I was afraid he was going to get hit by a car. I’ve even tried a different leash to make sure it wasn’t our clasp that was causing the problem. The only thing I can think of is the chest clasp is very thin compared to the clasp on the dogs I want to love this harness but it has flaws. Great and consistent product!
By Rosie224 on Feb 15, 2021
We've used the Kurgo seatbelt since we brought our puppy home and we absolutely love it. It's easy to put on and our dog doesn't make a fuss about wearing it at all. We purchased a medium because he finally outgrew the small. The only thing I am disappointed in is that the clip that the seatbelt attaches to the harness changes as you size up. The one that is provided with the medium seems so much less sturdy than the one provided with the small.

Really easy to use and I highly adjustable
By Patricia on Feb 17, 2021
I got a small for my Lhasa Apso and it is perfect. It is highly adjustable and super easy to put on and off (the first attempt should take you a while, but after you get used to it, you can do it super fast). it is sturdy and I like the fact that I can have the neck very roomie and it is still secure. I used it both for walking and car rides. I highly recommend it.

Very Pleased
By JustTheHarness on Dec 8, 2020
I'm very happy with this dog harness. Its super easy to put on and take off. I'm also happy with the little clip that came to attach to the seatbelt (it feels sturdy / strong) and also works well for holding onto in leu of a leash (while walking out to the car). The overall quality of the harness appears well made and my dog seems content in it. For anyone purchasing this harness more in regard to the car aspect of it: my dog doesn't move around a lot but still manages to get tangled in the seatbelt each time, I just purchased the direct to seat belt tether so I'm hoping that works a little better. Overall, very happy and would definitely suggest. Anyone looking for comparison reviews: Australian I'm very happy with this dog harness. Its super easy to put on and take off. Great product
By SteelCityDog on Dec 2, 2020
This harness is everything it claims to be. We love that it is well made and versatile. We use it in the car with the seatbelt attachment as well as for walking. We clip the leash to the top (back) for a quick potty break and then on the front (chest) for a no pull style leash for longer walks. It is designed to go over the dog’s head and then buckle on both sides of the chest. When tightened to fit properly, it does take a little finesse to get it back over his head but, primarily because the underside will catch on his collar. The buckles are very secure but they do take a bit of getting used to when you are accustomed to the cheaper plastic seatbelt style clasps. Apparent quality of materials, Poor design/functionality
By SmolPup on Dec 9, 2020
I was particularly interested in this harness as it is marketed as being crash-tested, and the front clip feature would make this harness suitable for centering gravitational pull, not to mention be compatible with a pupsaver car seat. Unfortunately, this harness falls short of expectations. While the nylon seatbelt-like materials and metal buckles are of high quality, the padding of the chest is thinner than expected and doesn't seem like it would distribute pressure of impact well (of course, I hope to avoid any car crash). There are extra loops and metal pins on the front-chest pad that don't serve obvious purpose. One of those pins came broken, which could cause even more of an issue. But beyond mixed quality of design, what falls short and is most disappointing is the functionality of the harness design. The harness seems like it's convenient to slip over a dog's head, but the harness connecting points are stiff and it's rather cumbersome and more inconvenient to adjust the straps to loosen and tighten to fit my pup. … more

My Christmas present
By Ollie on Jan 13, 2021
My Nana got me this great harness for Christmas. I have grown so much this first year that I needed a new one to protect me in the car when I come to see her. I love this harness cause it isn’t to heavy but keeps me safe, it’s comfy to walk around the block in and I can run and play in it too! I love it and so does my Momma!!

Very satisfied
By Holly on Dec 5, 2020
I've used this same halter previously for my smaller Sheltie, so when I adopted another (but a little larger) Sheltie, I decided to get another Kurgo Travel Halter to fit this dog, to keep her safe when riding in the car. I don't believe in having a dog ride just loose in the car with no restraints, for their safety and mine, and I've found that this travel halter works very well, is easy to put on my dog, and to clip onto the car seat belt. It can also be used for just a plain walking halter if needed. My only disappointment is that it did not come in another color in her size at the time I ordered it. I would have liked one to closer match her new collar, which has pink in it, however black I've used this same halter previously for my smaller Sheltie, so when I adopted another (but a little larger) Sheltie, I decided to get another Kurgo Travel Halter to fit this dog, to keep her safe when riding in the car. I would have liked one to closer match her new collar, which has pink in it, however black is a neutral color and not a problem. Actually, I really like this new Kurgo halter a little better than the older one I have, as they've made a couple minor changes to the "clip" on the safety restraint strap that comes with it, and that has made it easier to use on my car seatbelt. An added perk was, the halter was much cheaper to buy from Chewy than to buy in our local pet stores, and delivery of my order was very fast. … more

Nice product
By Seatbelt on Jan 7, 2021
We were very impressed with this product. We first purchased a harness from a very well respected retailer not usually known for their animals products at twice the cost. It didn't fir properly, the stitching started coming undone almost immediately and it was definitely not as well made and fitting as this harness st a much more reasonable cost.

Not what I was expecting
By Tealeaf on Dec 15, 2020
This harness is really secure. However, I didn’t like the way it clasped together. It’s like an old school belt and is very difficult for me to clasp together. It just seem to never go through the whole correctly for me. Very frustrating and I felt bad for my little guy but he was very patient. Once I finally got it on it was secure and I felt confident in the item. However, since I don’t leave harnesses on my babies all the time, it was not the right fit for us.
