My dogs - collies, think Lassie dogs - are fairly tall, so the standard stretchy 4' running leash didn't let my dogs get far enough away from me on hikes. This leash does. I'm very happy. Love the additional handhold down by the dog's neck.

Not For Pullers

I purchased this to make walks easier upon acquiring another puppy but my Golden Retriever pulls so much he's literally ten feet or more ahead. The leash is like

I purchased this to make walks easier upon acquiring another puppy but my Golden Retriever pulls so much he's literally ten feet or more ahead. The leash is like a bungee cord. It has a handle to get control, but it's so far ahead. It should be placed closer. I have to reel it in. On one of our walks, I was looking at my puppy when the older pulled to try and cross the street and a car was coming. I will only use this now for a quick walk or if I have someone with me to walk my other puppy.

Love the hands-free feature and attachment. It has made walking three dogs easier. But the leash slowly loosens constantly because my dogs do not pull, and there’s too much slack for my small dogs (I've tried it with my 9, 11, and 15 lb dogs). It drags unless I loosen the waist belt a lot or use it with a bigger dog. I still think it's great and I use it daily, just recommend for larger dogs and dogs that pull (helps prevent it from loosening around the waist).

Bungee lost spring in less than a month

I have a 45 lb lab/cattle dog mix who loves to pull so I thought the bungee and slightly added length would give him a little more freedom. I loved it at first but

I have a 45 lb lab/cattle dog mix who loves to pull so I thought the bungee and slightly added length would give him a little more freedom. I loved it at first but in less than a month, the bungee part completely lost it's spring. Now the leash part is always stretched out and too long. It drags if he's not at full length away from me. For smaller dogs, or dogs who don't pull as much, this is a great leash. Unfortunately for me, the bungee part didn't hold up.

Well built, small modification for pullers

Happy with the substantial nylon fabric and the quality of the metal parts. Frisco uses premium materials that are imho better than brands 3x of its cost. It is

Happy with the substantial nylon fabric and the quality of the metal parts. Frisco uses premium materials that are imho better than brands 3x of its cost. It is well made for all intended purposed except when your dog is a puller. Our mixed-breed rescue baby, driven by his hound determination and shepherd instinct, *really* knows where he wants to go and pulls with all his 40lb mighty (even after extensive training). This unfortunately revealed the plastic slide buckle has not enough bite to hold the strap in place - the nylon fabric that has been adjusted to my waist length keeps slipping through the buckle with no deterrent. The more my dog pulls the more the waist loop shrinks, and 10 minutes in I'm almost being cinched to death around the waist. In comes the knot that I made right above the webbing. It does a few things that became the saving grace. Most importantly the knot redirects the pulling force - instead of pulling the strap through the adjuster buckle, it only makes the knot tighter. So the waist loop can maintain a two finger space around the waist comfortably. The knot also makes the leash shorter, which is to my liking as I'd like to keep the dog near me when running minimizing the danger of getting tripped. Better yet the knot makes a handle loop that is right by my waist and makes it easy to pass the redirect signal to my dog. He turns and looks at me when I pull the knot loop. Btw I don't find the handle near the end of leash helpful during running as it is too far away and my dog actually got his front paw tangled in it once or twice. Now the knot is not pretty and doesn't work if you need more length around the waist. It also doesn't address when my dog changes sides, goes front and then back, essentially wrapping me up like a mummy with the leash when we run. Ideally the leash should slide along the waist loop but that requires a different design where the leash and the waist loop are two parts connected by a sliding buckle. But it seems a lot of pressure would ride on that connecting buckle. So for now I am stuck with this one until Frisco comes up with the next gen design.

While the idea of the hands free leash having the bungee cord-like stretch being a good thing, it is not very practical for why I bought it. The bungee feature and ability for it to give more length to the dog actually became a liability while walking a clients dog.

Nice Running Leash

I have been using this leash for 3 months and am happy with the quality! My dog pulls a lot at the beginning of runs and he hasn’t been able to stretch out the leash

I have been using this leash for 3 months and am happy with the quality! My dog pulls a lot at the beginning of runs and he hasn’t been able to stretch out the leash. It’s so nice to be hands free while running. I would definitely recommend this to a friend
