Which size is recommended for cats and wet food? I saw one reviewer saying the bumbs were too tall.
Answer by ChewyApr 15, 2021
For the best fit, we recommend choosing based on the amount your pet eats daily and comparing the size of the bowl with the size of your pet. For a complete sizing chart, click on the 'Size' tab, next to the 'Instructions' tab, just under the product photos.

Cats unfazed with eating challenge

These, at first glance, are beautiful nicely glazed bowls that designed to cause a feeding animal to slow down while eating contents of the bowl. The upward smooth projections do that function nicely and safely. Every bowl full is licked clean at every feeding! The only disappointment is the poorly (cheap) applied gold trim atop the edge of the bowl appears to rapidly flake off within 6 or 7 feedings! Possibly why the sale offer - Buy 2 and get 1 additional free - was placed on these bowls.

My boys are either smart or stupid, can't decide

Let me start by saying, these bowls are really good. I bought 4 of them for my two boy cats. Problem that needed solving: The two boys would scarf their food & go immediately eat their sister's. I can't always be there to stop them or to feed her in a different room since many times I'm on the way out the door when they get their breakfast. Vet recommended slow feeding bowls. What happened: Steve (Cattain America) & Bucky (Winpurr Soldier) didn't like the bowls very much at first, but they started eating out of them. Steve was the first to discover that he could reach in & paw the nuggets out to eat them. Bucky, after 6 months, still hasn't figured that out. He would (and still does) leave nuggets in the bottom of the bowl that he is too lazy or doesn't know how to get to. What he did figure out was that he could flip the bowl over and get all his food. This didn't solve my problem because he would either still finish first or he would abandon his food & go steal Natasha's (Black Whisker) as she is a slower eater. So, now I have to feed them in a separate room anyway. This, of course is not the fault of the bowl or the manufacturer. My boys are just too smart or too stupid/lazy, but I love them any way.

It does work

This has really worked. Slowed down my overeater, and reduced occasional vomiting from eating too fast. Side cutouts in bowl make it easy to pick-up, but also easy for cat to flip it on occasion.

Slow Feeder

My dog does not stop to breathe while she gobbles her food. The slow feeder has definitely slowed her down and she has to stop and take a breath since she can't get to the bottom of the bowl. I would recommend this if you have a small dog who needs to slow down when eating.

Doesn't work for smart dogs

I bought this for my rescue pup who inhales her food. It worked for a little. You could tell it frustrated her, but it slowed her down. Until she discovered she could tip the bowl. Now she just dumps it at every meal and eats as fast as she wants to.

It really works

I am so pleased that it did the job of slowing down my puppy's eating, I don't even care that the gold trim came off. I hand washed the bowl so I can't say why this happened. It looks just fine w/o the trim.

Slow down lady

My one Shih tzu loves to eat. She can finish her food before I get the bowls down for my other two. I bought this bowl and it has slowed her down a bit. It’s vey well made and does not slide around on the floor while she’s eating.

Best eating solution!

Our kitty was eating too fast and promptly throwing it all up. Used it today and it worked wonderfully! Instead of 4 minutes she took 20..and it all stayed down. Very pleased!!!

Durable and Effective

Lovely bowl, feels well-made, and helps my cat slow down as she eats dry food. She no longer wolfs down mouthfuls of kibble, but instead takes smaller bites. I decided to get the smallest bowl size for my cat and it's perfect. The bowl looks even nicer in person and I appreciate the simple, clean design. Going to buy a second one for my other cat since this one worked well.
