Is this leash chew proof?

This retractable leash offers freedom and control by automatically adjusting as your dog walks-lengthening and shortening as needed and offers a lock in system to avoid accidents. If your dog has enough strength, energy and determination, they may be able to chew through the tape of the leash.

What weight does it go up to? Will it hold an Akita?

The X-Small measures 12 feet with a width of 5/16 inches, for a pet weighing up to 16 pounds. The Small measures 16 feet with a width of 3/8 inches, for a pet weighing up to 32 pounds. The Medium measures 16 feet with a width of 7/16 inches, for a pet weighing up to 64 pounds. The Large measures 16 feet with a width of 9/16 inches, for a pet weighing up to 110 pounds.

Can i lock the brake? So it stays at a certain length until I release it

Is the reflective tape made with latex?

The retractable does not contain any latex. The material around the handle of the retractables is TRP (thermoplastic rubber), and it does not contain latex or phthalates.

Leash broke off after a few weeks.

I was using this to train my labradoodle to use a specific part of the yard as her bathroom. One day when she was done and gave a little tug to head back in, the leash broke into two and she, the part with the buckle was still attached to her, but not to the rest of the leash. The leash wasn't used on walks, and we only had it for a few weeks, so I wonder if i got a faulty leash, or is this is a common problem.

Nice leash, but be careful

I wanted a long leash with a very thin line for a 4-pound puppy and this fills that bill, however, the recall on the leash is super powerful! I have to be very careful not to release the line at full strength or it would pull my puppy right off her feet. The line is very lightweight and thin (it reminds me of a ribbon) which is perfect for a little puppy. I think it would be easy to chew through I the dog was given the chance to do so.

Would not recommend

If the lead gets pulled to its full extent, it jams. Only way to release is to tap it until it releases.

My dog chews through them. Can’t leave it on when she’s sitting in back of the car. But it’s a good leash and better price than the others she’s destroyed

Frisco leash

This is the best retractable leash I've found. It is sturdy and unlike others has a strap type leash not a thin rope like one. Highly recommended.
