If you don’t have a fenced-in yard, a tie-out cable provides dogs with secure access to the yard so they can take care of potty business. Designed to work together with any stake plus a dog collar (not included), it creates a safe zone that allows dogs the freedom to go outside while preventing them from escaping the yard if they get distracted. That way, you can make sure your pup makes good use of his outdoor time—like answering the call of nature—instead of getting into doggy shenanigans. It’s easy to use—just clip one of the metal swivel clips to one side of the stake (not included), and the other one to your dog’s collar. After your dog “goes”, simply unclip and they’re ready to come back inside. These tie-out cables are available in a variety of lengths and widths so you can find the one that’s just right for your pup.

I only use tie out cables occasionally, so my dogs and roam outside with me without concern of them running into the street (no fence). I store the tie out indoors so the elements don't destroy it. It's been holding up very well with no signs of rust or damage. This morning, I had my 35 lb dog on the tie out and she went for a squirrel. The tie out snapped along the cable! How does a 35 lb dog break a 50 lb cable? I'm pretty disappointed. It's a good thing my dogs knows recall, or I would have been chasing her who knows how long. Since the weight ratings can't be trusted, I'll need to buy a bulkier one to replace it.
It was originally advertised as for dogs weighing up to 50 lbs. The cord is really thin and I don't know how it can keep my dog from breaking it.
Sturdy and works well. Keeps my pup safe and gives him some outside time.
Perfect size for my 11lb chi/terrier mix. Not too heavy, but still has strength to it so I'm afraid of any breakage. Does not tangle!
Keeps him safe in yard and can go many spots in yard
My 25 lb dog broke it in 4 months. We use it a few times daily.
Thin for a little dog to drag around, tough enough to chew and yank on.
My dog is 35lbs and I use this when I want to keep my back porch door open and give my dog a little more room while I'm outside. I have not used this without supervision though.
I purchased these to use for camping. They are not as long as many of the others I have seen and used. The shorter ones work great for camping since you don't always have a lot of room. These are made well and I think they will work out great for my dogs.
Sadly this cable broke with 5 days of receiving. I’m glad I caught it before my puppy ran off, as I have a decent amount of traffic on my road. Very disappointed in the quality of the clip.
