How sturdy is the grating? Is it metal? Is it easily chewed through?

This crate is made with wood and features a metal frame on the inside to keep it sturdy. This crate is not designed to restrain aggressive breeds of dogs who may thrash and launch themselves inside the crate.

How much weight can this hold on top? Is there a max weight?

The bottom of the crate is metal with removable mats. We recommend taking pets out for regular potty breaks and reinforcing wanted behavior.

Very solid crate

I spent so long trying to find the perfect “furniture” style dog crate. A lot of them were tacky and poor quality and 2x the price of this one, which is very solidly

I spent so long trying to find the perfect “furniture” style dog crate. A lot of them were tacky and poor quality and 2x the price of this one, which is very solidly built and tasteful IMO. It comes well packaged in two (very heavy) pieces, and the assembly process is literally hand tightening 4 knobs. So fast and easy. The metal sides and wood top all seem very well made and secure. The two cushions were vacuum sealed and take a while to fluff up but now fit perfectly side by side on the bottom. My three small dogs fit comfortably inside.

Year 4 and still going

We received this as a gift in February 2022 for our 55 lb. Aussie/Border Collie mix because he had to be “still” for 8 weeks (he injured a part of his spine). He

We received this as a gift in February 2022 for our 55 lb. Aussie/Border Collie mix because he had to be “still” for 8 weeks (he injured a part of his spine). He fit perfectly & could easily turn around, as well as curl up on one side completely. This credenza really saved him & our peace of mind! Fast forward to 2025 & our two 20ish lb. Frenchies LOVE IT & use it daily. The mats have been replaced, but the credenza itself is still fantastic! Everything works as it should & looks beautiful. One feature we really like is that one of the door handles is magnetic, so it stays open for them to go in & out - even our 65 lb. Lab gets in & hasn’t done any damage to it whatsoever! We have gotten so much use out of having this for our fur babies - more than we imagined! Two things keeping this from 5 stars. One, I wish both handles had the magnetic feature - it’s very nice to keep the area neat. Second, I wish there was an optional divider to purchase for times when our Frenchie siblings need their own space rather than buying more create furniture & crowding our space. Overall, it’s been the most wonderful & stress relieving gift we’ve received!

Sadie gets a new bed and Dog Dad gets a piece of decent furniture

Arrived in a HEAVY box. But still movable. We moved from a 4,400SF home on acreage to a 900SF apartment and Sadie needed a smaller crate. instead of that we found

Arrived in a HEAVY box. But still movable. We moved from a 4,400SF home on acreage to a 900SF apartment and Sadie needed a smaller crate. instead of that we found this SUPER EASY to assemble piece of doggie furniture. Sadie is an English Shepherd but small for her breed at 35LBS with a long body for her weight. She can still turn around in this and can stretch out with plenty of room for her toy hord ( Thanks Chewy!) Sorry for no photo; It's in a bedroom/office and doesn't really look like a crate, more like furniture. Love the pads and the top opens to clean ou if you need that. I just use the Dyson and vac it out every few days. VERY happy with the purchase. Definitely worth the money and easy to assemble an still can break down to move easily. Its heavy and built well.

I was expecting a big project when the box arrived but it was sooo easy to put together. it looks great in the living room, and my 15 lb terrier mix is very cozy

Poor latch
