Whats the active ingredients

Answer by ChewyMar 23, 2022
Each packet contains 250 milligrams of Metronidazole and 75 milligrams of Praziquantel.

I performed. Seemed like it work. Rope like poop returned. Now what?

Answer by ChewyDec 04, 2021
If the symptoms improve but do not completely disappear, we recommend repeating this five-day treatment. On day one, add the contents of one packet per 10 gallons (38 L) of water. No treatment is needed on day two. On day three, add one packet per 10 gallons (38 L) of water. No treatment is needed on day four. Perform a 25% water change on day five.

Is this safe for snails and shrimp?

Answer by ChewyJul 30, 2025

At the time my fish had really horrible unknown parasites throughout its entire tank I tried these different medications they didn't do a whole heck of a lot for the fish but they helped some the parasites are now gone but unfortunately now my other tank has them but in smaller size they're still unknown they stick to the glass or plastic of the tank I just don't know what kind of worms they are they're driving me nuts but the original one that had them they're all cleared up now thank God it was a battle for a long time

The packaging that has the powdered chemical in it for 10 gal. Areal dust is visible when dispensing. My tank is 160 gal. Opened 16 packages wearing gloves, glasses and dust mask. Mixed in 20oz of water for 5 min. Placed in sump and undissolved powder coated everything. I removed biological filter previously but as described in documentation ammonia was present in my heavily planted tank. Hole in head disease seems successfully treated. Parasite eggs can take 2 weeks to hatch so you have to treat again two weeks later. Hole in head is healing. Ammonia reducers need to be added. Lost another fish from this, so test for ammonia and treat with stress treatment if you see it. My two weeks is almost over and I am not looking forward to opening 15 packages. Treatment Works! Delivery from container to tank needs work.

Late

The treatment itself works wonderfully, but, unfortunately it arrives to late to treat my fish and she didn't make it until I received it.

This works as intended *BUT* please check the expiration date on the packages Chewy sends you!! I ordered a 10 pack on Feb. 9th 2022, arrived on the 11th but it’s expiration date is February 27th 2022!!! Five stars for the product itself. Three stars for Chewy not just pulling the old stuff. I intend to use some by the 27th but not the whole 10 packs in that time and even though it’s probably fine for a few months after expiration, after I do another 5 day coarse in two weeks I will probably end up tossing the rest to be safe. Kind of a waste of money. The product itself did clear my fishes gill flukes although i will have to do another round in two weeks to be safe. It did not hurt the shrimp or snails in the tank and pH remained fine throughout.
