When mixing Fritz Reef Pro Mix, it is best to use RO/DI water quality checked by a TDS meter (TDS should be less than 10 ppm, 0 is preferred). Fill a clean mixing container (dedicated to saltwater mixing only) with desired amount of water to be prepared. For best results, use water between 70-75F (21-24C) when mixing RPM. Slowly add desired amount of RPM to the water to avoid an increase in temperature and precipitation. This helps to prevent precipitation of calcium, alkalinity and other elements. It is recommended to use a mixing pump and an airstone when mixing RPM. This will also help to avoid concentrated areas of material and precipitation. Using a properly calibrated refractometer, bring the water to the desired salinity. Once mixed to a clear solution, add a heater to the water to bring to the current temperature of your aquarium. It is recommended to allow two hours before performing a water change. If water does not mix clear, please contact us for further mixing tips before performing a water change.
Even using this salt for years this must be a bad batch as it seems to mix crystal clear then turns milky when it sits for a while
My first order was 2 bags. When it arrived both bags had holes in the top, just large enough to fit a finger through. Chewy was kind enough to replace the bags with two more. When I opened my door after delivery, salt was on my doorstep and leaking out of the box. I’m guessing it didn’t happen during shipping rather a bad batch of bags that were all leaking. The salt is a great product, but the packaging is terrible.
It's marine salt. It dissolved abd does the job as intended. Giving any product a bad review because of poor delivery, or bad customer service tells me nothing about the product. These kinds of reviews are useless.
It mixes well, no cloudiness from it. I've used Seachem Salinity for the past 8 years and have a hard time finding it lately so I had to try something new, glad I gave the Reef Pro Mix a try. Only con I can think of from the 2 compared is that you have to use more of the Reef Pro mix to reach your salinity level but overall seems to mix better and leaves no cloudy aftermath.
Works awesome, other salts i was using more than recommended to reach parameters i was aiming for. This product i believe i am using few scoops less then recommend when mixing 100 gallons, and parameters are great!
