- Helps kill flea eggs and flea larvae to help inhibit future infestations.

- Designed for a waterproof protection.
Important Information
Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

- Use the dispensing tip of the tube to part the cat's hair so that the product will be applied at skin level. *Begin squeezing out the contents of the tube to form a stripe as you move from the shoulder blades along the cat's back to the base of the tail.

Where is this product sourced from?
We source all our products from manufacturer approved distributors or directly from the manufacturers. Chewy takes pride in ensuring that our furry friends’ wellbeing is always our top priority. We have worked hard to partner with all of the manufactures to deliver 100% authentic products
Where do these new fleas come from?
Numerous hosts (including feral cats, opossums, raccoons, and other wildlife species) leave behind flea eggs wherever they go, including your yard. These outdoor flea infestations are often the primary source of the fleas that your pets pick up. Outdoors, developing flea stages can be found in areas protected from sunlight, so some of their favorite places include:
- Sheds
- Garages
- Under porches or decks
How long will a flea infestation in the home last?
Flea eggs, larvae, and pupae in the environment continue to develop and emerge as new fleas (even after your pet has been treated with a flea control product). It can take weeks to months for this already established infestation to be controlled.
What else can I do to reduce the flea population in my home?
Regular use of an appropriate Frontline Gold brand product on your pet may reduce flea infestations in the home. For best results, use Frontline Gold brand products as part of a comprehensive flea treatment plan, which includes coordinated treatment of the home, yard and pet. Vacuum floors, carpets and furniture – especially in areas where an infested pet has spent a lot of time, because that is often where many flea eggs will be found. Wash pet bedding and other fabrics in hot water.
Why do I still see fleas on my pet after applying Frontline Gold?
There are two main reasons:
- Fleas can jump onto your pet at any time (see where do new fleas come from), and these are not killed instantly.
- Frontline Gold brand products are designed to kill any new fleas quickly and prevent their ability to reproduce. Frontline Gold kills fleas by overstimulating the flea nervous system, and hyperexcited fleas may move to the top of the haircoat before they die. So seeing fleas on top of the haircoat after applying Frontline Gold can be an indication that the product is working.
How does Frontline Gold for Dogs and Frontline Gold for Cats work?
After being applied, Frontline Gold for Dogs and Frontline Gold for Cats spreads all over the treated animal’s body and is stored in the sebaceous glands under the surface of the skin. From these glands, it is continually wicked through the hair follicles onto the skin and haircoat for a month or more.
Should I apply Frontline Gold for Dogs to ALL the dogs and Frontline Gold for Cats to ALL the cats in my household, even if they are indoor-only?
Absolutely. If you don’t treat every dog and cat, the untreated pets can continue to harbor fleas that will lay eggs, preventing the infestation from being cleared. Even if the dog or cat never goes outdoors, people may bring fleas into the home.
How often should I apply Frontline Gold brand products to my pets?
For continuous protection, apply an appropriate Frontline Gold brand product every 30 days as directed. Consistency is key.
Can I bathe my pet while using Frontline Gold?
Yes. Frontline Gold brand products remain effective for 30 days, even if your pet swims or is bathed. You may bathe your pet 48 hours after application. ONLY use a shampoo formulated for your pet and recommended by your veterinarian.

waste of money
By Rosemary on Feb 22, 2021
Because of flea outbreak with my inside/outside cats I thought I'd try Frontline since I thought maybe what I had been using they were immune to. No such luck ! My cats have flea dirt galore and live fleas more than ever ! Waste of money for sure. I have cancelled anymore. I will go back to the Nytropyrem and give it more often.

Cat still scratching from fleas!
By PrincessMarie on Feb 16, 2021
I was recommended Frontline but it did not seem to have any effect on my ragdoll-mix. It just did not work for my one and only house cat, such a waste of money. And the worst part is that upon opening the package, one of the three tubes was empty because the product was spilt all over the outside (like how is that possible).

Still getting ticks
By Brenda on Nov 24, 2020
I have to compliment Chewy for their excellent customer service. I ordered 2 boxes of Frontline, I have 4 indoor-outdoor cats. When I unscrewed the flea treatment, the tube was empty. All 3 applications were empty. I called customer service to let them know. They shipped me out another box and it was delivered in 2 days. Thank you so much! Frontline is not working as well as it use to. (I think they changed ingredients within the last 3 years). This year is a really bad tick year. I usually only use Frontline during Fall and Winter for ticks. I don't seem to have a flea problem but I do flea brush the cats all summer to make sure I am on top of it before they get infested. Don’t waste your money
By Viscachesaywhat on Sep 29, 2020
A lot of money, yet poor results. Didn’t even work at first treatment. I also purchased the one for dogs and that, too, did not work. I vacuumed and moped daily and replaced bedding. All in all I am very disappointed in this product. I was hoping that this product would be worth what I paid for it. Next time, I plan to just contact my vet and purchase something better. So don’t waist your money.

Good Stuff

This really is the best over the counter flea medicine. Yes it’s expensive. But you’ll be happy you spent the money when your cat isn’t scratching all the time!
