Decent Feral Cat Home - give it time and it will be a useful shelter

Happy with the construction of this home. It's made out of very decent materials that does keep outdoor cats cozy once you've added bedding/blankets, towels inside. Easy to follow building instructions. Fresh out the box, it will smell like paint/PVC and such due to the materials. I left it outside with the roof propped open for a few days to let it air out and then added bedding so odors wouldn't transfer on to the fabrics. Feral cats take a bit more time to actually get familiar with such a shelter so I also sprayed the inside every day with catnip sprays to attract/give them confidence to go inside. Add feather/bird/mouse/toys and they will come back to chill inside. After rains and weather changes my semi feral cat finally understood this is his own shelter. It took about a month for him to get familiar and feel confident inside.

Directions say 2 people / 90 minutes for assembly. 74 year old lady here. Took me 1 hour. went together easily. I also added wood glue at all seams. I noticed a few reviews said not insulated. The insulation is in between the inner and outer walls. Although you cannot see it, you can hear by tapping that the walls are not hollow. This will make a great shelter for the most recent feral cat who showed up at my house, until i can get him tamed.

Attractive

Cat is still somewhat afraid of it. Will go in if food is inside and front plastic door is open. Took 1 person about 1 1/2 hours to assemble. Definitely need a power

Cat is still somewhat afraid of it. Will go in if food is inside and front plastic door is open. Took 1 person about 1 1/2 hours to assemble. Definitely need a power driver as there are a lot of screws that are not predrilled. Seems very sturdy.

Love the roof access

Now if I can just figure out how to get the said outdoor cat to use it. she will sleep next to it. Also sun herself on top of it. She's ate inside of it maybe twice

Looks good, some holes are not pre-drilled. I bought this because I wanted an insulated shelter for the winter for a feral cat. This is NOT INSULATED. I was able to pack insulation around the sides and the roof and limit any draft underneath.
