FurHaven Faux Fur Orthopedic Bolster Dog Bed w/Removable Cover

This is our second Fur Haven bed. The first is mostly still in good shape, but after several washings, the moisture resistant layer had begun to crack and leave specks of black fiber everywhere when putting it back together. The directions said it could be machine washed and tumble dried or it could be hung to dry. I had chosen the dryer because it fluffed so nicely. Hoping air drying on this new one will make it last longer. Even with the specks, I’d still purchase again for the price, the comfort (well, Molly always looks comfortable) and the ease of putting back together after washing. I’ve been waiting to write this review until after I washed it for the first time and it’s GREAT! I have a very large (tall) dog and he absolutely loves this bed. I got the jumbo size. It’s perfect for him to sprawl out on and if the other little dogs want to lay with him they can. It unzipped in two places and the cover washed very nicely with no fraying on the inside seems. And once dried, it was less complicated than other covers to put back together. The cushions and foam are sturdy enough for me and the big guy to lay on too! Thankfully he doesn’t chew or scratch at his bed so I think this is a bed that’ll last for a long while.

The size of the bed is great, but the thickness is very disappointing. A dog requiring this size bed is going to be heavy, when they lay on this bed there is really very little to no padding between them and the floor. To make it work, I placed the new bed on top of her old one. I wouldn't recommend this bed nor would I purchase it again.

We have had the bed for a couple weeks now and it’s the perfect size for our dog. She loves to use the bed when it’s covered with a blanket, but we cannot believe how bad it smells. It had a strong chemical odor when it arrived and it still hasn’t worn off, even after a wash. In fact, the whole load of wash now smells like chemical. It’s giving the people in the house headaches, so we have decided to replace it with a different one.

I'm thrilled that a shipped bed that came in one piece was 1-thick and plush even after shipping and 2-wrapped in plastic inside because the box came apart in shipping and was taped back together by the carrier. Having it in one piece is a huge convenience for a disabled person. I admit to only putting 4 stars since I haven't tried to remove, wash, and re-wrap the cover yet. It cushions my dog nicely and she doesn't seem to get too hot unlike with other orthopedic beds, and I love the color. Eventually I will likely buy another, one size down, for when we travel.

I baught this for my 2 senior cats, but all my cats love it! Its easy to take apart and clean, I also do a quick vaccuum everyday just to keep on top of the fur. Its great! At most it fit 3 cats at once. 1 cat also likes sleeping on the outer rim part, because its a pillow insert. Would definitely recommend this bed!

I am absolutely 100% satisfied with this bed.... my dog has been on it every day since I purchased it usually I couldn't get them off my couch or the bed but it's very comfortable for him I assume because he's always on it

As always my ladies love these beds! The only brand and style they don’t shred/chew up. They last forever. I purchased this time to add a large bed to my office. Next purchase will be for our lake home !

I ordered this bed also in July of this year. It came in separate pieces individually wrapped and was clearly unused. Just received the second one I ordered recently. It came assembled, unwrapped (wrapping was stuffed in the bottom of the box) and was stuffed into the box. It looks "clean" but appears to be one that had been returned....plus it cost almost double of the exact one purchased in July of this year.

Both Molly (the 15-year-old Sheltie we bought this bed for) and Alfie, our other Sheltie, LOVE this bed! They take turns on it, which is funny to watch. I am certain it helps Molly, who has arthritis. I recommend this bed to all elderly dog parents!
