Hi! Is this bed made of solid memory foam or is there a solid layer on the top only? If there is some on the top only, what is the bed filled in? Is there shredded or pieces memory foam in this bed? Ty

This bed is 4 inches thick. It has a layer of solid medical-grade support foam and memory foam. An orthopedic foam base features egg-crate foam that alleviates aching joints and provides soothing comfort to pressure points. The Jumbo option, for larger breeds, features solid slab orthopedic foam for greater support and comfort.

Can the bolster filling be removed when the cover needs to be washed? If it can be removed, is the filling contained in a separate covering?

The bolsters can be removed and should not be put in the washing machine. This bed features one zippered, removable cover that is machine washable.

This bed is designed, assembled, warehoused, and shipped in the USA using USA-sourced filling materials. The bed cover only is made in China. The foam is manufactured in the U.S.A. and has been rigorously tested to ensure it meets standards for content, emissions, and durability, and was analyzed by independent, accredited testing laboratories. For optimum pet health, FurHaven uses low VOC, CertiPUR-US® certified foam. This domestic foam is made without PDBEs, TDCPP or TCEP (“Tris”) flame retardants, mercury, lead, and other heavy metals. FurHaven foam is manufactured without formaldehyde, ozone depleters, and phthalates regulated by the CPSC.

Bed hating dog actually uses it

My dog who normally chooses the hardwood floors over most sleeping options loves this bed! I can tell she is really comfy and loves to snuggle into the bolsters

Great Dog Bed

I bought this bed about 9 years ago. My 135 lb German Shepard and my 80 Lb mix breed slept on it daily. My Shepard used to “fluff” it with his claws and it didn’t

I bought this bed about 9 years ago. My 135 lb German Shepard and my 80 Lb mix breed slept on it daily. My Shepard used to “fluff” it with his claws and it didn’t rip. It was washed often. No zipper problems. This lasted until this year, it developed a little tear in the fabric. But this bed withstood a lot of use and my dogs loved it. Im buying another one. Keep up the quality Chewy!
