About Fussie Cat

Co-Created by Cats

Instead of just assuming what kind of food cats will like, Fussie Cat lets them call the shots. Each recipe is co-created and taste-tested by cats to make sure your own kitty will love it. Aside from being highly palatable, Fussie Cat wet and dry foods are full of quality meats like boneless chicken, duck, tuna, shrimp and prawns to make sure your little carnivore is getting the protein-rich, feline-appropriate diet she needs.

Made for Meat Lovers

If there's one thing cats crave, it's the rich taste of pure meat. It makes sense, because they're obligate carnivores. Your four-legged friend probably lets you know exactly what she likes, and it's sure to be fish, poultry or meat. Fussie Cat has farm-raised poultry, ocean fish from the South Pacific, and a whole range of interesting seafood options like Threadfin Bream, smoked tuna, mussels, clams and anchovies.

Physiologically Correct Diets

Knowing that cats need meat protein to survive, Fussie Cat developed formulas that they call Physiologically Correct. As true carnivores, their bodies are extremely efficient in processing meat, so 20% of their diet should come from animal proteins. Fussie Cat's foods start with meat, are low in carbs and include a complete spectrum of essential vitamins and minerals. You can be sure your kitty's getting all the necessary amino acids, protein and other nutrients.

Kitty's Choice

With two canned food lines and several tempting dry food options, your cat can always have the dinner she prefers. Fussie Cat Premium is a tuna-based menu that pairs this popular fish with chicken or seafood delicacies. Super Premium is made for chicken lovers with boneless chicken, low sodium levels and plenty of omegas. Market Fresh dry foods are crunchy and delicious, with proteins full of vitamin B12, and antioxidant-rich cranberries and blueberries.

Outstanding Quality Control

Fussie Cat makes their top-quality foods in an FDA-registered kitchen—the same kitchen that produces canned food that's fit for people to eat. Thorough quality inspections are conducted daily for food safety, heavy metals, pathogens, contamination and pesticides, so the end product is everything that you should expect it to be.

About Fussie Cat

Fussie Cat uses a carnivore-friendly, meat-first philosophy to provide wholesome meals that are full of the animal proteins your cat needs to thrive. Meat is always the main course, and carbohydrates only appear in limited amounts. They've created recipes that not only pass the strictest international food safety tests, but also kitty taste tests with flying colors. Cats from all corners of the U.S. will find all their favorites in Fussie Cat's Market Fresh dry foods and flavorful wet foods.

Questions & Answers

5 Customer Questions

The fifth ingredient listed is "Natural Flavor"—what is this sourced from?

Answer by ChewyJul 25, 2023
The “Natural Flavor” from the Fussie Cat Market Fresh Lamb & Pork Wet Cat Food are the juices from the Lamb and Pork when it was cooked to bring back the natural flavor of the protein.

Do the cans contain BPA?

Answer by ChewyJan 31, 2023
Fussie Cat cans are BPA-free. The inside coating used on their 5.5-ounce cans is a water-based phenolic acrylic, and water-based acrylic for the outside coating. The coating system is a highly technical system that is designed to protect the freshness of the product and to ensure that the cans do not come in contact with the food.

Is this food true pate or is it more meat loaf style?

Answer by ChewyJan 30, 2023
This food has a pate consistency.

What is the phosphorus percentage?

Answer by ChewyJan 09, 2023
This formula contains a phosphorus content of 0.45 as fed and 2.01 on a dry matter basis.

I have been trying different chicken-free wet foods (it’s not easy finding them!) for my two cats that prefer pate texture. I thought this one would be perfect. Instead, it goes like this: they beg for wet food, I open it, they run to their bowls, screech to a halt, and then look at me like I’ve destroyed their hopes and dreams. One pushes it around. The other won’t even bother. I even tried warming it up a little. Still no go. Back to the search.

Dry

It’s nice the first day, but seems to dry out when it sits in the fridge. After that, the cats don’t like it as well.

My highly allergic kitty does great on this!

My cat has a severe chicken allergy that triggers his eosinophilic granulomatosis. He eats a prescription hydrolized protein dry food but absolutely HATES the wet

My cat has a severe chicken allergy that triggers his eosinophilic granulomatosis. He eats a prescription hydrolized protein dry food but absolutely HATES the wet. This food has no chicken or chicken by-products and doesn’t trigger his allergies. Both he and my other kitty LOVE the taste and devour it greedily.

Like other reviews, I decided to try this because my two cats (sisters) love other Fussie Cat canned food, and we are trying to rule out a food allergy for one of them. One ate it but didn't love it; the other wouldn't touch it.

Was hoping the kids would like this since they love other canned food from Fussie. Unfortunately, 5 kitties won't eat this. Maybe other kitties would like it,

Surprised

I bought this for my 1 year old cat to rule out food allergies. He likes it, but he eats almost anything. What shocked me is that my 13 year old cat loves it too

I bought this for my 1 year old cat to rule out food allergies. He likes it, but he eats almost anything. What shocked me is that my 13 year old cat loves it too. She has apathetic hyperthyroidism (meaning she eats less, not more, as a result of her thyroid hormone being too high), and was recently diagnosed with small cell lymphoma. She's been picky and has refused to eat pate for a while now, and I've been trying to get her to eat more canned food to gain back some of the weight she's lost
