Can the ramp be secured to use for getting my dog into the back seat of the car, instead of through the hatchback? In this case there is no attachment point or ring for the tether. Is there a lip on the ramp that can anchor it so it's secure for my dog to walk up and in?

Answer by ChewyApr 18, 2019
There is a lip at the top of the ramp that makes it secure in the case there isn't a place to hook the tether. This ramp can be used to help your dog into the back seat of a car.

Has anyone used this with a pickup and travel trailer? Looking for a ramp my elderly border collie (who has bone cancer which limits his mobility) can use to go camping.

Answer by ChewyDec 13, 2017
This item can be used to enter your vehicle, climb on the couch, or into your bed with you. Many customers have reported successfully using this to get their pet into an RV or travel trailer.

Why show a folding ramp without demonstrating how it folds and stores?

Answer by ChewyJul 24, 2018
The product pictures illustrate the ramp extended, the ramp folded completely in half in a storage space (trunk), and the button that's pressed to unlock and lock the ramp. The ramp folds in half as illustrated.

What is the green material? Is it recycled tires (astro turf)?

Answer by ChewyApr 24, 2018
The green material on this Ramp is a Poly-Grass surface to provide a safe grip.

I purchased this well made ramp because I was babysitting a large dog with hip issues. It has only been tried once and she wouldn't go on it. The major issue was the car I drive, not with your product. I did read one customer's review that mentioned the same problem. Not all SUVs have the same floor height.

I was picking my 50 lb elderly dog up to load in the car. Eventually threw my back out. Researching ramps, I came across this one. It unfolds easily and the turf surface gives her gripping surface. She walked right up it first try and we were both less stressed.

Miss Maggie Maggie is biscuit driven. It was easy to get her interested in going up the ramp. Easy to set up and fold up.

The ease of opening it and setting it up.

The other one we returned was rough and he would not put his feet on it, plus opening it, it clipped my fingers leaving a huge bruise. We donated it to our local humane society.

I ordered the ramp in hopes my golden would go down into our storm shelter for tornadoes. I tried practicing with him with it on our deck steps. He would go up and down it. But when we moved it to the shelter he would not. It was just too steep of a climb and the first step is a big one. I tried it right on the edge of the shelter but he still would not use it. My smaller dog would run up and down it. They are both food driven so having any sort of treat in hand they will usually do anything. If I needed it for regular steps or to help him into the car I think it would be OK. My smaller, shiba Inu, would use it no problem.

I read others' reviews to understand their techniques for getting their dog to go up the ramp. Put treats along the ramp flat on the ground. Then do the same with the ramp leading up into the back of the car. My treat of choice is slices of pepperoni. My dog is a shepherd. With no pepperoni, she avoided the ramp. With pepperoni, she walked right across it. With no pepperoni, she would not go up the ramp. With pepperoni, she went right up, munching all the way. After 2 times, she no longer cared about the pepperoni and just went right up, having gotten the idea.

We have a 2-year old Kangal Shepherd livestock guard dog who weighs 113# so unless she drives herself, getting her to the vet can be a challenge. We've done some different things in the past and none of them were satisfactory so after some research I bought this ramp to facilitate her ingress and egress to a vehicle. As a puppy she was interested in climbing on downed trees and other objects so I figured she'd adapt to the ramp. We practiced walking on the concrete ramp to our barn which is pretty steep and then used this ramp on some lower objects to get her used to it. Finally we hooked the ramp up to the back of my Ford Explorer SUV and practiced a few times before going to the vet and she took to it without hesitation (she would prefer to just jump out of the back but with guidance walks down the ramp). The AstroTurf surface provides a doggie friendly texture and traction, it folds easily and has an appreciated rubber carrying handle. I highly recommend this ramp and respectfully suggest practicing with your dog a bit if they are initially reluctant to use it.

It's a great ramp! Problem is my collies refused to use it, so I gave it to my groomer. It's easy to carry, folds well and is sturdy when tiled against the car as a ramp. I tired training them with it flat, just to walk across it, but they refused to do that - even following a trail of treats (snatched form standing off the ramp!). They did not feel secure on it, and absolutely refused it, but my groomer has given it to someone who is delighted to have it for her smaller dogs.
