MidWest Cozy Crates

A Cozy Crate for Every Home

As instinctual den animals, it's important for dogs to have a comfy place to nest. Crates also help with potty training and reducing habits like chewing or barking, while providing a safe, den-like home for your fur baby. MidWest designs their crates with safety, security and comfort as their priority. No matter the age of your dog, you're sure to find the right fit for your unique pal.

Convenience and Comfort, All in One

For a lightweight crate that requires no tools, folds flat, and still has the security of heavy-duty slide-bolt latches, look no further than the MidWest iCrate. It’s made for easygoing dogs and even comes with a divider panel so it can grow with your pup. Pair that with a removable, ease-to-clean plastic pan, sturdy carrying handle, and surface protective rubber feet to create the recipe for a crate made just for your dog.

A Crate for All LifeStages

Made with heavy-gauge steel and wire mesh, MidWest's Life Stages is a sturdy cage that can offer extra security. Rubber rollers protect your floors while a sturdy carrying handle makes it easy to move before your pal gets in. With rounded corners to protect your dog, slide bolt latches to keep him safely inside, and a divider panel that can be moved—and removed as your pup grows—it's a crate for all life stages.

Secure, Sturdy and Safe

For optimal security and safety, the Ultima Pro is MidWest's most durable crate, made of professional-gauge steel designed to stand up to chewers and stronger dogs. The dual door access allows your dog to enter and exit on either side—but only when you say so! Your dog will feel safe and cozy in this retreat, made just for those pups who need a little extra safekeeping.

The double door is very convenient for my Yorkie puppy. One open side door allows her to go in and out to use her Training Potty Pad, and the other door allows her to go in and out to her play area. I use indoor fencing around her entire kennel and Training Potty Pad to allow her to stay safe and enjoy her large play area!

The cage was bent upon arrival but not so much that it was unusable. Set up was easy, but I noticed the latches were not very sturdy and the tray that serves as the bottom of the crate is very cheap plastic. It held up for the first two months I had it, but my dog was only ever in there for about an hour. He’s not a very strong breed or anything either, just a skinny terrier mix, but this last time I left him for closer to two hours, and when I returned home, he’d managed to bend the cheap latches until the bottom of the gate busted opened. He greeted me at the door as I came in. I should have splurged a little more and got something stronger.

I have this crate with the single door that I have been using for my one dog for the past two years. When we got our second dog about a month ago...we needed to get another crate. I knew I was going to buy a midwest crate, but I had made the mistake of initially ordering the single door and it did not work in my space. Chewy's customer service was phenomenal and I was able to order the crate with the double door. I love Chewy and this crate!! It's perfect for our space needs and our pup loves going into it when its time for bed! All in all...a great, sturdy crate!!

We rescued Darla about three months ago. I ordered this crate for her. I like the two doors, makes it easy to choose which door to open or leave open based on where you place the crate. We treat our crates as beds (we actually call it that). The dogs have a nice cushion in there for comfort...I get machine washable ones. We leave the door open so Darla can go in anytime she wants. She does go in quite often. We also have a larger crate that we keep open also for same reason. Often we put them in the larger one together when we go out. Would definitely recommend this crate. Make it comfy for your dog, and I don't think crate training will be an issue!

My 2 month old lab puppy needed a bigger crate so I bought this one with the divider thinking she could grow into it. She’s managed to get out of twice now. The first time I can’t be sure I did all of the latches, but since then, I’ve been triple checking. I was fine for about 30 minutes today and she managed to flip the kennel over and then forced her way out of the latched side door. I didn’t turn on the puppy cam - I can only imagine the ruckus. I’m just glad she is okay and unhurt and that she only tore up a paper towel roll while I was gone. I like the idea of this kennel, but it’s just too flimsy to work for my 22 pound lab. I can’t imagine putting my 95 pound lab in there.

I am very pleased with the crate. He actually fir OK in the next size down, which I use if I need to put him in our basement for short periods. But because he is a little leggier than some shelties he stands tall. Since he sleeps in it every night and I sometimes have to crate him for a few hours at a stretch, I like for him to be able to stand up. I also liked the foldable feature for long term stays on vacations or visiting since his car crate is a little small for extended confinement.

While my new dog is fine with this crate, it seems a little smaller than advertised. I'm not sure if the measurements provided were for the inside or the outside of this crate. Otherwise, it is a nice crate, was easy to set up, and works well for my purposes.
