Swing and miss...

We're working with our veterinarian to find an alternative food that our senior cat with IBD will eat, as he is not doing well on the prescription formulas anymore. We swung, and we missed. He won't even sniff this one. We love Petcurean as a company, and they make great food, but maybe bugs don't smell great to a cat.

SUCCESS!

I try SO many foods for my two cats, and it’s always hit or miss - but most often miss. The local pet supply suggested I try go! because of the high quality ingredient sourcing in Canada. I tried a variety from the store that was ‘meh’. Searched Chewy and found this Limited Ingredient Black Soldier Fly formula. The chickens love BSF, so I figured I’d try it with the cats. What a Hit! They both beg for more - so much so that it’s hard to get them to eat their wet food. And they both tolerate it well - no vomiting or diarrhea. I’m sold and hope this continues to be available!

We have tried all the novel proteins, all the brands for my IBD and skin allergy cat. Decided to try this on whim since my kitties love catching and eating insects

We have tried all the novel proteins, all the brands for my IBD and skin allergy cat. Decided to try this on whim since my kitties love catching and eating insects anyway. So far no IBD symptoms and his fur is growing back on his allergy spots. The cats like it too so it’s a win win. I like that the smell isn’t as strong as other brands so my house doesn’t smell like a giant cat food bowl.

Well, my cat didn’t like it much at first, but now she is eating it with relish. Insect protein is the future, and I know we need to change how we eat, and how we feed our pets. “Go” is a high-quality brand, and this particular product is very affordable. I’d love to encourage as many cat owners as possible to make this food at least a part of your cat’s diet. It’s also the perfect food for feeding during the day, just in case my chickens get into it. They love it!!!

It is so nice to have a novel protein option that is also planet friendly. We adopted a cat that has a severe poultry allergy and IBD and found a salmon food he could have, but one of our other cats was allergic to that. This seems to be working adequately for everyone. A couple of the cats really love it and the other two are picky about everything but will eat it, so far so good! Thank you Canada! I wish more pet food companies would make more poultry free options for dry and wet food. It is honestly such a struggle and it shouldn’t be with chicken being such a common allergen.

I’ve been researching cat foods made with insects as the protein source for awhile now. I decided to order this for the first time to see if my Savannah cats would like it. I just received it and when I opened the bag, I felt like the Pied Piper!!!! All my cats followed me until I put it in their dishes. They love it. The kibble pellets are small and it has a decent smell. This is definitely going to be a new meal choice for them from now on.

I was initially very skeptical about insect flavor, but knowing that my cat likes to eat silverfish, spiders and crickets, I figured that I’d give it a try. The food looks and smells like any typical cat food, maybe even less intense. I have been mixing it with the Go! duck formula and I could tell he finishes his food faster when I give more of this flavor. My cat is very pleased with this flavor and a bonus that it is perfect for his sensitive tummy. I noticed his vomiting episodes have improved since we started.
