The GoughNuts Ring Dog Toy was designed to give pups a safer, tougher chew toy. This natural rubber ring is made in the USA using engineered carbon reinforcement. Each GoughNuts toy has two layers — the outer color indicates the strength, and the inner core is always red to serve as a safety indicator. Red means stop, so when a dog chews down to this red layer, you know it’s time to order a new GoughNuts Ring. This GoughNuts Ring bounces, rolls and even floats, so it can stand up to extreme games of fetch and all types of outdoor play.
Key Benefits- A natural rubber ring toy that utilizes engineered carbon reinforcement for added durability
- The two layer design is built with a red safety indicator that lets pet parents know it is time to take the toy away from your furry friend
- Perfect for an interactive game of fetch on land or in the water
- A great chew toy option for tough and aggressive chewers
- Easy to clean: just use warm water to wipe GoughNuts Rings clean after a long day of playing
Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

smells awful but seems durable
By TJL85 on Jan 25, 2022
My dog loves to chew and tends to destroy toys, so I was looking for something durable. This seems to be holding up well to her teeth, but it smells awful like burnt rubber. It fills the room and even makes my hands smell when I touch it. I'm hoping the smell will fade soon, otherwise my dog will only get to play with this one when I'm not in the room.

Probably bought it too big but-
By Cooper on Jan 1, 2022
I think I probably bought it too big for Cooper but he has DESTROYED everything else and it is hilarious watching him trying to get his mouth around the Maxx then lift it and walk around. It weighs a ton but it’s well worth the entertainment until he drops it on your foot! LOL! Cooper is a mix breed medium size so far at 7 months he’s leveled out at 43 lbs of non-stop serious chewing, tugging and energy. He’s definitely smaller than this toy was intended for and seriously I should have gotten the next size down but at this rate it’ll be around a while!

My dogs wouldn't touch this -- UNTIL!!
By Kathy on Dec 11, 2021
This toy stank of rubber when it came. Both dogs wouldn't get near it. (I didn't want to, either.) I soaked it twice, for a long time, in soapy water, but no improvement. Then I called Chewy and the customer service rep recommended that I try some vinegar and warm water overnight. PROBLEM SOLVED! Now my dogs FIGHT over this toy! YAY!

Unappealing Rubber
By Bennett on Nov 10, 2021
We have a young, but adult, dog who is definitely a chewer. After watching the video for this product, I thought the GoughNuts Ring would be a nice addition to the chew toy bin, being a bit softer on the teeth. Unfortunately, the toy smells very strongly of rubber and my pup wants nothing to do with it. I stuck it in with the kibble to hopefully transfer a different odor to it... but still there is zero interest. These might be good for an indiscriminate super chewer, but they don't seem enticing to the moderate chewer.

Not great for small dogs
By Lucy on Dec 11, 2021
Great material and only reason three stars is this is the smallest one and it is still too big, thick and heavy for our 7 lb dog. Wanted her to like it and other than rolling it so she can chase it, she just can't get her mouth open enough to chew on it. Need a smaller version and not so thick!

Sturdy but my dog doesn't like it
By satx on Jan 12, 2022
It is indeed a sturdy toy, but my dog doesn't care to chew on it very much, so it was a bit of a waste of money.

Tough toy good for power chewer
By Lucas on Dec 13, 2021
Power chewer can’t get through this but it is very heavy if you have a smaller power chewer. Will keep it for when he is about a year old

Dog doesn't play with it
By BobP on Feb 9, 2022
Got it because my puppy is a heavy chewer. She doesn't even tough this toy.

Bored on Arrival
By Annie on Nov 3, 2021
My Weimaraner pup showed zero interest in this toy. Perhaps it was too hard. Perhaps it smelled too plastic-y. It remains in her toy box, forgotten.

My dog has a favorite new toy!
By Remy on Oct 21, 2021
The GoughNut donut is great! My dog is great at tearing toys apart and I think we have found the perfect toy. Love it!
