I was pleasantly surprised how quickly my dog took to The Green Dog Vegan Food. He was drooling a lot as soon as I opened the bag, and couldn’t wait to eat. I slowly transitioned him, as directed by the company, and his stomach has done well. He tends to have a gassy stomach and itchy skin with most kibble, but so far his issues seems to be getting better with this product. A big plus is this vegan kibble is cruelty free. I also appreciate that it has zero cholesterol and is low sodium, which is something I pay more attention to as my dog ages. The ingredients include omega-3 and 6 fatty acids to keep your dog’s coat shiny. It’s got a lot of vitamins and minerals, which should be great for my elderly dog’s joints and arthritis. I appreciate that the product is able to be vegan without sacrificing on protein content. If your dog has sensitive skin or stomach problems, I’d highly recommend giving this kibble a try.

My first issue with this product is that the ingredients list on the bag don’t match the ingredients listed in the item description. The first ingredients being
My first issue with this product is that the ingredients list on the bag don’t match the ingredients listed in the item description. The first ingredients being corn, soy, and peanuts are very problematic for me. Soy, corn, copper sulfate, synthetic vitamins, peanuts which are high in fat and produce toxic aflatoxins. These ingredients are not the healthiest for your dog with current health guidelines. Copper Sulfate is a synthetic form of copper and very absorbable but hard to expel from the body. It often is stored in excess in the liver and can cause major health concerns. My dog did like the dog food when offered at first and ate it. However, she only ate it once and never would eat it again after the first time. That is also concerning to me as well. Dogs are carnivores and need a great deal of protein so I would be sure to check with my veterinarian to be sure this is a good choice. I’m not convinced this is the best choice for me and my pet.

Unfortunately, it did not. Within an hour she was excessively gassy and needed to go out. When I took her out she had very runny feces. Sadly, this will not become part of her normal diet.

This is a great option for people with dogs who have a chicken allergy. I also like that the kibble size is smaller so it's perfect for my small dog as well as my big dog.
