will the cooling mat still be effective if kept in a hot car to be used to cool my dog down during the long car ride home after a long hike?

The Green Pet Shop Self-Cooling Pet Pad will be okay if left in a hot car. It is a pressure activated self cooling pad and weight activate so it activates as soon as your pet's paws hit the mat.

Can this be used outdoors? I live in AZ and need it for a stray cat. It would be on tile in a covered area but still gets hot out there.

This can be used indoor or outdoor. If used outdoors, it's not recommended to leave in direct sunlight, heat, or hot air as it will affect the performance of the cooling pad. For use with an outdoor cat, we recommend using with the The Green Pet Shop Self-Cooling Pet Pad Cover. Outdoor cats have very sharp nails, so the cover will protect the pad more.

neither of my cats seem to care about cooling off on these pads (Siberian kitties and they get hot curled up on our sun porch. I made light weight cotton covers for them too. Every now and then on a hot day I'll find one on it but I don't think it's because the are cooling. I love the idea of these.

Not a fan

We purchased the cover and the pad. Our very brilliant Border Collie who figures everything out, could not figure out that this was a cooling pad so avoided it,

We purchased the cover and the pad. Our very brilliant Border Collie who figures everything out, could not figure out that this was a cooling pad so avoided it, despite a million ways of encouraging it's use. The only way he would use it is if we put a faux fur blanket on top. Kinda defeats the purpose. Either it doesn't work, or doesn't work well enough for the pup to feel a difference.

It took weeks before my cat and dog would lie on it, but they loved it this summer. Also my dog is part shi tsu, and they like to "dig" on the floor, couch, bed...she has been furiously digging on this cooling pad for months and hasn't even marked it. Highly recommend!

I bought this pad mainly for my cat with medium length fur who would be sprawled out on the floor when it was hot. (Ironically, he was the last of my cats to use the pad.) The medium is a good size for my cats, and it has a good amount of weight so it stays put. I haven't had to clean it yet, but it looks like it will be easy to clean when necessary.

Our dog Eddie, 12 years old, would sit on the easy chair and fall asleep and then wake up and pant every evening while we watching TV in that room. We had bought him a smaller size of this mat, and it fit perfectly in his bed, and we noticed that didn’t pant when he was in the bed on the mat, so we ordered the large larger size to fit on the easy chair and now he sleeps and wakes up and does not pant any longer he’s cool from the mat. Highly recommend this purchase.

I was sooo hopeful that the cool pad would help my medium-long-haired dog in this hot weather, especially after our walks. She will not get on it. I got her to get on it for a treat but she immediately left. Maybe the slickness makes her unstable. A great idea that didn’t work for us. I didn’t notice any special cooling after the 15 minute pressure when I placed an item on it, as promised. That was disappointing. I thought the extra cooling might entice Sydney. But it’s no cooler than the hard tile that she lies on.

Doesnt work at all

The mat doesnt cool off at all with pressure. My pup will lay on this and still be hot and panting. I checked with my hands and all the spots she laid in were still

After tossing and turning she couldnt find a cool spot. I bought one for less then $10 on temu that works better than this junk. Cant believe I wasted money like this
