Will this harness prevent the dog from choking when he tries to pull on the leash?

Answer by ChewyAug 07, 2021
This no-pull harness helps teach your pet the correct way to walk without the need to yank. It is designed to stop your them from pulling as it tightens when he tugs on the lead. It also features a sliding security cord lock that prevents over tightening.

Do I measure by the neck for this or the chest. My dog has a 12.0 inch neck and a 22 inch chest...so what size would I get?

Answer by ChewyDec 28, 2020
The sizing chart may be located by clicking the “Size” tab, on the product page. To select the best size we recommend that you measure your dog's chest girth (circumference). To measure the chest girth you'll measure around the broadest part of the rib-cage behind the front legs. If the dog happens to be in between sizes, it's then recommended to select the bigger size.

Can I use the Halti nylon no pull harness with a front leash clip only?

Answer by ChewySep 07, 2020
This harness is not designed to only use the front clip. The unique design includes both a stop-pull lifting feature connected from the back if using a single lead or for stronger pulling dogs the addition of a front chest control connection for full control when used with a dual-clip leash.

How does the "front chest control" work?

Answer by ChewyApr 28, 2022
For a better no-pull experience, this harness should be paired with a Halti Training Lead. This dual-clip lead provides attachment points at the front and back of the dog harness, offering optimal support and steering control.

Durable but they learn

We utilize both prong collars and this. Bear did great at first but after a While (est 8 months) he learned to get over any frustration this harness may have created

I cannot emphasize enough how happy I am to have this harness. My dog is a fast and excited walker and with his collar, I felt like i was always putting pressure on his neck while also having little control. The Halti allows him freedom without pulling and I am so much more comfortable walking him. The angle of the attached leash is also better for both of us. I have only used the rear leash clip -- not the chest clip.

doesn't work

While the quality is great and this worked on my brothers dog, it didn't stop my big guy from pulling at all.

I love the halti, head collar, but people always mistake it for a muzzle. I was hoping to find a harness that mitigated pulling. This one worked great for about three days until my clever pooch figured out that he could just back up and pull me that way. If you have a dog who sometimes pulls in reverse, this is a very unsafe option, as I was very fearful, he could just step out of the whole thing. This also resulted in his being intermittently unmovable on walks, especially if he disagreed with the direction I wish to go in.

I had a friend tell me about this harness. I wasn’t sure but I ordered it. I recently adopted an 80lb puppy who had not been leash trained. She would pull so hard that it was a challenge to walk her. I was doing leash training skills, and it was going well, but this made all the difference. I put the harness on her and it was magic. No pulling. Slack in the lead. A dream come true. This is the best product I’ve ever purchased!
