The steel lid fits very securely to the top of the storage container. You will just need to grip the outside of the lid with your fingers and pull up to open.

The canisters were pretty and a good size for a 40-pound bag of dog food. However, I bought the canister to keep the dogs out of the dog food. The first thing my Border Collie, Boughie, did was flip the top off and eat out of the canister. There is no latch or way to secure the tops. I ended up stacking the two canisters so that Boughie couldn't reach the top.

I am so pleased with the food storage container. My dog is 15# and I opted for the size small. It’s perfect. I love how it’s made of durable steel tin metal material and that it has handles. I also love how it matches his feeding station perfectly. This is so much better than the clipped dog food bags and plastic containers I was using. Functional, chic, and I’ve gotten so many compliments!

no lid and scratched

My container just arrived and I did not get a lid and the container was scratched. Very expensive purchase for something I cannot use.

Dirty and Dented

Storage canister was covered in thick dust, had multiple dings in side paneling and lid was stuck and could only be removed with a flathead screwdriver!
