Fill your pet bird’s food dish with approximately what your pet consumes within a 24 hour period. Usually for parrots, the portion may range between 1/2 to 3/4 cup per bird, depending on the size of the parrot. Adjust the portions to meet your bird’s specific dietary needs. Supplement this diet with fresh fruits and vegetables. Remove uneaten food and seed hulls and clean food dish before refilling with new food. Always maintain fresh drinking water for your pet bird.
While introducing a new food to your pet friend, gradually mix new food with your pet’s old diet. Increase the amount of food over a period of 7 to 10 days. This will allow your pet to adjust to the new food and it will prevent any upset to your pet’s digestive system.
Been buying Higgins gourmet blend for a few years now and the quality has been going down every time I get my new order. Less and less quantity nuts such as almonds, hazel nuts, pecans and cashews. The manufacturer is adding more and more filler seeds that parrots don’t eat. Price is always going up and the quality is always going down. Not putting any blame on Chewy. Chewy has always been reliable. Putting the blame on the manufacturer. Looking for a new type of parrot food.
Sorry, but the parrot doesn't eat this. He really only wants the Nutri-berries and peanuts in shell. Oh, and friends' cashews. He will still get this over other day for 1 meal.
has sunflower seeds in it cant use it,also the dogfood bag i bought to same order they must have change product of the food all dogs are really pooping so much, even my 1 year old used this food for years not happy at all, my dogs are small and are inside only ,i just think now time to go somewhere else now
LOVE. FINDING. PARROT. FOOD. W/O. RED. PEPPERS. LOTS. OF. VARIETY. N'HELE. LOVES. IT
The is not the best for a macaw. Too many sunflower seeds
Variety of fruit and seeds and nuts really gets her attention.
The ingredients appear varied and healthy, however, who has an African Gray that isn't picky/selective.
I have a finicky cockatoo and he like this mix He didn't throw it out
I opened the bag and put in the container and there was silky stuff through out the bag. 2 days later when I opened the container there were actual moths flying out. I googled and found that this sometimes happens with bird food and is safe for the birds to eat however I do not need a moth infestation so I just threw out 25lbs of bird food. I am hoping this does not happen again but Im very reluctant to spend 85.00 for another bag. I have never had any issues with any other purchase.
Having issues getting my regular food, gave this a shot. Ok, too many peppers. Have never met a bird that ate these, don't know why they are in most bird foods. Also, WHY does it contain sugar, just WHY??? Don't understand why the manufacturer wastes money putting in something absolutely not needed in any way, shape or form, just stupid.
