How is the best way to change the seed based diet of a 24 year old African Grey to the pellet diet? In addition to the seed based diet she gets grapes, carrots, green beans and broccoli.

It will take some time but transitioning slowly is best, some birds learn faster though and it won't take as long. You can pour some pellets on and around the normal fruits at first and then each day put less seed-based food.

Part of a complete breakfast, not a diet plan

We treat kibble as equivalent to vitamin enriched clay in nature. We provide lots of other options. It is typically a female who grazes this. Note: M2s seem to be wired against purple balls whether it is the kibble broken up or blueberries. You can tell who wiped out the dish.

Great transition food

I’m transitioning young birds from seeds to pellets. This is a great pellet to start with. The vibrant colors really attract the young ones. It must taste good because they continue to eat it.

Staple for my birds

I always feed my birds this food everyday and then I provide a second cup which I rotate with different foods so they have variety but this is definitely their daily staple that they always eat.

Senegal loves this

My little guy is TWENTY years old, this has been his primary diet his whole life. He does get 'treats' [raw peanuts, veggies & seed]. He has beautiful color a healthy beak and feet. He is very alert, happy & sassy!

My 3rd baby

Usually buy 2 pound package.I was told only 12 pound bag available! SO, I purchased it! Heavy for me to carry in! Fills my vegetables draw in refrigerator! Hope he doesn’t decide not to like it! Is that possible? Very!

Enjoyed by Many different birds

I have 7 large birds from African Grey, Macaws, Moluccan, and Cockatoos. It is funny how some birds want to eat only the red and orange, while others will eat the green and yellow. I am glad that all the birds enjoy eating the pellets. I did try the large bird pellets but prefer this medium size pellets for my birds. Less wasteful.
