Feed your chinchilla 2 to 3 tbsp of Sunburst per day depending on the age of your pet. Complement this feeding with unlimited amounts of hay. Always regulate the food portion to maintain your pet’s weight. A pregnant or lactating female will sometimes eat 2 to 3 times as much as a normal adult. Remove and discard uneaten food everyday and clean the bowl prior to refilling it. Always maintain fresh drinking water near your pet’s food container.
While introducing a new food to your pet friend, gradually mix new food with your pet’s old diet. Increase the amount of food over a period of 7 to 10 days. This will allow your pet to adjust to the new food and it will prevent any upset to your pet’s digestive system.

Chin Owners Beware!
By lyss on Mar 17, 2021
Just wanted to warn chin owners about this food! This was the first bag I ever bought for my chin and I’ve learned my lesson. Chins tend to pick through the food and only eat the treats, and every vet and breeder I’ve talked to said AVOID FOOD WITH ANY EXTRA STUFF IN IT!!! My boy gained weight very quickly and became constipated because the poor guy picked all of the treats out. This food just isn’t healthy for chins. Again, I know you guys know best for your babies, but I will never stop advocating against this food!

My four Chinchillas loved this!
By ChillaMama on Sep 30, 2020
I have a chinchilla family of four and mom and dad and two babies absolutely love this food! It's healthy and they get treats throughout their food but the only downside is they all pick through the food and only eat the treats.

By snow on Aug 28, 2020
Amazing chinchilla food, mine have all loved it. Have tried many kinds. Waited forever for them to sell the bigger bags but not happy with the price of it. Should be getting a deal with it not a higher price then buying the smaller bags. what a let down from the nice surprise

Chinchilla food
By Madmomma on Sep 7, 2020
Our chinchilla loved this food, but unfortunately she passed away this weekend. I have an unopened bag of food, I'm trying to find an organization to donate her unopened items to.

Chin Loves this food
By Victoria on May 1, 2020
My chinchilla seems to really enjoy this food. It has a wide variety of healthy snackums so it's nice she gets a treat every so often inside. It is also nice that bits of hay are included to reduce the large clumps that can smell...lovely. I've stocked up, thanks!

good for a treat
By Cory on Apr 30, 2020
I get this for my boy as a once a week treat and a change from his regular pellets. It’s great as such, but would be a terrible choice for primary diet as chinchillas should just be having basic pellets without all that added business normally.

Completely inappropriate diet
By AMar on Mar 8, 2020
This is chock full of all sorts of things truly not appropriate for your chinchilla to eat. I know it seems nice to give your chins more variety but they are evolved to eat a plain diet. Plain pellets and hay are the best thing for them. If you are looking for treats for your chins give them fruit wood sticks, loofah, or certain dried herbs are a better choice. Shame on chewy for even stocking this horribly inappropriate food.

Amazing mix
By ChinnyMamma on Oct 30, 2019
My little fatty is very particular about what he eats and he loves this mix. I will take the bag out and he will start to dance around his cage. I will definitely be buying this version again, in a bigger bag next time!
