I have a chihuahua who is 1 (Oreo) and I want to try science diet and I don’t know if o should get the small and mini bites or stay with the small bites. He is 9lbs. Thank you

Answer by JeannetteSep 03, 2024
Mine are (2) yorkies at 9 lbs and (1) at 6.5. I use the science diet small and mini. That's what the package says. ( Small & Mini). Has the Yorkie in it. They seem to prefer it.

Do you carry the larger bags?

At one cup a day, how many days does a 15 lbs bag last?

Answer by ChewyMar 25, 2018
There will be approximately 4 cups per pound of kibble. The 4.5 pound bag will have close to 18 cups, the 15.5 pound bag close to 62 cups.

Is this grain free?

Answer by ChewyApr 19, 2018
This formula is not grain free.

When Millie got a little older, I used a cheaper brand of dog food. I always bag her waist, and I noticed how strong her poop . When I switched back to science’s diet, I noticed an extreme difference. I only feed her dry dog food she’s three years old, happy healthy, and energetic. Thank you, Hills science diet and chewy for the best dog service ever.

Hill's is the only food PhredD has been given in the ten years he has had us. The only people food he gets are occasional small pieces of lettuce. He receives one mini Milk Bone treat when he goes out to "make a puddle." That's it - and he is healthy and happy.

This is the food that the rescue was feeding Simon when we adopted him. He eats it very well, but we are gradually switching over to another less expensive brand for small dogs because it is much more economical for us. The price is really the main reason we will not continue feeding Hills.

We had tried two different brands of food for our boy. About a year into Covid we were completely unable to find his food. I called six different pet stores and looked everywhere online including the manufacturer website and still couldn’t find his normal food brand and breed size food. And NOTHING I COULD NOT FIND IT ANYWHERE I finally asked a family friend what she has always used for her dogs. She told me this brand so i decided to give it a try. We noticed our boy was no longer having semi regular diarrhea After being on this food eventually he rarely had any stomach issues at all. We also switched him to science diet wet food as well. Four years later our boy is still in this food doing well and very excited to have it.

Vet recommended senior so for my almost 1 yr old I opted for as well

We had 2 seniors who were on the senior food. We now have 1 senior with no food or digestive issues. We also have an almost 1 year old puppy/dog that was on puppy

We had 2 seniors who were on the senior food. We now have 1 senior with no food or digestive issues. We also have an almost 1 year old puppy/dog that was on puppy version. They eat each other's food, so I went to adult food to mix with senior food so my almost adult dog can still have proper nutrients if and when he eats seniors food. Vet approved this idea
