About Himalayan Dog Chew

Where it All Began

Himalayan Pet Supply is the original creator of the Himalayan Dog Chew. Their team supports a network of over 10,000 Himalayan farmers who handcraft these ancient hard cheese chews for dogs around the world. Tradition + Innovation

Combining ancient traditions with modern innovation, Himalayan Pet Supply chews start in the Himalayan mountains at over 15,000 feet, near Mount Everest. They are crafted with a winning combination of yak and cow milk and are 100% free from preservatives and binding agents. And since they are made for dogs, they are completely free from lactose, gluten, grain, soy, corn and wheat!

Serving Pets and the Community

Himalayan Pet Supply took part in passing the first laws in Nepal, allowing farmers to insure their livestock as capital. Doing Good One Chew at a Time

In 2003, after discovering Kaos the dog loved Chhurpi, a traditional cheese chew made from the people of the Himalayas, two brothers and their friend had an idea to create a dog-friendly version. After 4 years of tweaking the ancient recipe, removing the lactose and fat content, they ended up with a tasty and savory, long-lasting chew, now known as a Himalayan Dog Chew. They aren't that cheesy, they are very hard (rock hard, you can't break them up into pieces), and you don't get much per bag. He loves the big yak cheese sticks, so I thought these would be a fun thing to have day to day, but it's not the same at all

Much smaller than pictured

I select treats I know my dogs will like, but also based on price and volume. I watch all the chewy videos and these "puffs" are much smaller than what's pictured

They must have laid the bag flat and moved all the puffs into position to get them to fill the clear cow cutout on the packaging. Video shows much bigger puffs in a larger looking bag. See my pic attached! Dogs love them but not nearly enough for the price.
