At what temperature do you dehydrate?

Honest Kitchen meats, fish, and eggs are gently cooked at sufficient, required temperatures to make sure they've reached an internal temperature of at least 165°F, ensuring they are safe and free of any pathogens. The gentle cooking process means that these ingredients are fully cooked and not considered raw. The ingredients meet and/or exceed all federal standards for pathogen elimination.

Are these technically raw treats?

The Honest Kitchen recipes are made from dehydrated whole food ingredients, but they're not quite the same as raw. Dehydration is a slow, gentle method of preserving food. It helps to keep many of the natural nutrients in the raw ingredients in tact.

Is this treat good for both cats and dogs or just dogs? I'm confused. The website says both but the package only shows dogs.

All three of my dogs love these and I’ve noticed that their coats are healthier and shinier when they eat these treats. The only thing to keep in mind is that the smell lingers a bit on your hand, it goes away as soon as you wash them, so use tongs if the fishy smell really bothers you. The fishy smell definitely lingers on their breath for a bit too, but they love these taste.

Choking hazard even if broken into small pieces

Be careful with these! Since they're dehydrated, they're very hard and I worried about my little one choking on these if used as a chewing treat. So I broke it into

Be careful with these! Since they're dehydrated, they're very hard and I worried about my little one choking on these if used as a chewing treat. So I broke it into tiny pieces instead but since they have sharp edges even when broken up, my baby got it stuck in her throat and was choking. I freaked out and did whatever I could to get it up. I tried sticking my finger in the mouth to scoop it out but it was already deep in the throat so then I tried feeding mushy food to make it go down and I think the sharp edges cut her esophagus. Now we're having problems eating food in general so I think there's pain. I wouldn't recommend giving these unless you soak it well first so soften them. I only got these because my baby is on a whitefish novel protein diet and had to swap out all the old treats and there weren't a lot of whitefish options. But these are dangerous so I won't risk it anymore.

Every night at 7pm, our small dog gets a series of treats. These Honest Kitchen Dehydrated White Fish Filets are her favorites. The filets are easy enough to break into small pieces. She gets about one-fourth of a filet broken into about 4 pieces. She thinks she's in heaven! They have a slight 'fishy' odor, but they're dehydrated, so not messy. I have them on autoship. Very happy with them.
