Picky dog likes this food!
I like this food, too. It smells like my own beef stew, not dog food. The only criticism of the product is the packaging method. It's that new-fangled type of cardboard box where you squeeze the corners to open it up. Only it doesn't quite open up enough to get the food out, so it winds up being a very messy process that gets all over my fingers. But the dog likes the food, so I'm stuck with it! The packaging is why I made it 4 stars and not 5 stars. The food is top quality.
Although our little dog loves the Honest Kitchen turkey stew, he does not like this beef stew. I suspect it is because of the large amount of kale in it. Aside from the fact that our dog does not like kale, we have concerns about the goitrogenic properties of kale, especially because of the apparently large amount in the food.
My little rescue dog
Willie loves this stew, He is rather fussy what he eats but does not hesitate with this stew.
Needs meat & veggies
I won't purchase this ever again because it's 95% gravy. Too expensive to not have some chunks of food.
Dog food topper
Unfortunately I spent needless money on this product. Not only does it look disgusting, my dog hates it. I wasted good money.
I really like anything from the Honest Kitchen because it is all human grade food. No parts and pieces of discarded animals. Their pour overs are great for picky eaters too. But I have a beagle, so no problem there; beagles eat everything. I want to keep her healthy so I give her only quality human grade food.
Picky eater loves this!
I have a picky eater and he absolutely loves this! I have tried every food you can think of and this passes the test! Thank you Honest Kitchen your products are a life saver!
a no go for my pup
I wanted desperately for my girl with kidney disease to eat this but like all the foods with safe levels of protein/phos/sodium she would not. It smelled like human stew and before she got sick I am sure she would have devoured it. I will give it 5 stars anyway as I am sure it is top shelf doggy cuisine and not the products fault but the dogs. I will keep searching and I have found a neighbor who is thrilled with my gift of this food for her pup.
Jury Still's out
I have a finicky yorkie who has eaten this most of the time. I would estimate she has left it 25% of the time. I do not like the containers - since she is a yorkie she only gets a portion of what in the container and it really doesn't reclose - I am giving it one more try and have ordered the variety package. I will try to update this.
Best food hands down
I have 4 dogs and 2 are small and 2 are large. My 2 large dogs got poisoned by salmonella from a different dog food. Then I was told I had to change and I could not do the traditional transition onto new dog food because of the poison from the old dog food. So we changed as I would call it “cold turkey” and OMG all 4 of my dogs are so much better. Lots of energy and coat is shining and not that much poop to pick up. I feed the clusters with a little of the topping on them and we love this food !!!
