Supervise while chewing. Feed as a treat, not as food or for human consumption. Recommended size is slightly larger than your dog's mouth. Wash hands with warm water and soap after handling. Take treat away if it becomes small enough to swallow or starts to splinter. Always provide plenty of fresh water for your dog.
They are really hard for the dogs to chew. One of my dogs will chew on them but the other dog will not touch them. Sorry I thought they would have liked them.
My poms love these. This is good for their teeth and love to put the chew in the microwave and they puff up.
We have a one year old blue heeler that absolutely loves his yak cheese. We previously bought them one or two at a time which is a pricey way to buy them considering what a super chewer he is. It’s been great to have a large supply of them on hand, too!
These seemed like a nice size and a decent price for what these are. Apparently very popular amongst many dog owners. We recently adopted a large German Shepherd from the shelter. He's not a terribly fussy eater, but he can be picky about treats. I should probably have tried one of these rather than a whole package of them since I was unsure of his taste. But the pricing is much better if you order larger quantities, and I believed he would probably like them. He initially accepted one of these sticks (so carefully crafted in the Himalayas if that's true). He chewed for awhile and I thought oh great. But then he left this high priced but long lasting treat, and has yet to go back to it. I tried poking his interest with another one, but again he has just left it behind. So I guess not his thing. Your dog might like these, but ours does not. Since our only other dog is a small one, over 15 years, with bad teeth (the cardiologist advised not to put him under anesthesia to clean) I'm thinking I might drop the other yak cheese sticks in the bag off at the shelter.. The shelter, where our new dog came from is far away, but is very full with dogs much in need. They lie out in the hot sun on hard pavement in cages, all hoping for another shot at life. The one we adopted is beautiful and sweet, and was only 2 hours away from euthanasia.
The product arrived with what looked like tears & teeth marks all over the packaging. (My husband said it looked like a dog picked it up in his mouth and chomped down on it a bit). I contacted Chewy and they happily sent me a replacement. The new package was also damaged with two very distinct gashes in it, very clearly caused by teeth. Chewy was amazing, and refunded my money. Both packages had the same lot numbers & expirations so I’m curious if the problem is with the company itself or the chewy warehouse. Either way, that was just a couple days ago and this product is now showing as out of stock.. so there was obviously an issue somewhere. I wish I could review the product itself but there’s no way I’m feeding these to my babes; who knows what was digging their teeth into these!
These were way softer than the other brand I’ve been buying. My 55lb pit mix got through these in 15-20 minutes where as the original brand lasts her hours or even a full day of on and off chewing.
These keep my dogs really happy for hours. I like the simple ingredients.
