Could this heater be used in chicken waterer to keep water from freezing?
Answer by ChewyJan 11, 2018
While this Heater is designed for use in a fish tank, we have had reports of customers using it successfully for other purposes.

Does it maintain the tank at a certain temperature or do you have to connect it to a timer.
Answer by ChewyApr 13, 2018
This heater is designed with the innovative positive thermal coefficient element to heat the temperature of your bowl, aquarium or terrarium an average of 5 to 10-degree warmer than room temperature. Perfect heat for my beta

I have a 1.5 gal tank that my beta stays in, it keeps the temp between 72° & 75°. He is so happy with the bowl and temp that he builds the biggest & thickest bubble nests that I've ever seen!

It’s decent

It’s supposed to make your tank “warm” but it doesn’t make it warm it makes it warmer and mine is only a 1.5 gallon tank

So much more energy!

Khal Fisho loves his new heater. It fits nicely under his aquarium rocks so you can’t even tell it’s in the tank. Since the addition he’s been much happier.

Betta Water temp must be 78-80° constantly.

Quit wasting your money on these small inefficient heaters. Betta fish require constant temperatures of 78 to 80 degrees at all times. They Thrive better in warmer water and resist bacteria better. I threw out all my cheap small heaters and purchased a Cobalt neotherm that's suitable for a 2 and 1/2 gallon tank. What a difference it made. The temperature is always set at 80 degrees. The other smaller cheaper heaters usually go on and off according to your room temperature. So there's too much fluctuation and the water is not always warm enough. Another good hint is do not over feed your Betta. Only give him 3 pellets twice a day and skip a day once a week. That is also need filtration system set on the lowest setting so the water is not to turbulent. Keep the warm and consistent and you will see a big difference in the condition of your Betta. Also don't forget to make partial water changes weekly, being careful to replace the water at the same temperature that's in the fish tank. You can also use a little aquarium salt in the water, but only adds more salt when you are actually removing old water. If you are just replacing evaporated water do not add any salt to that water. Water must always have a conditioner and dechlorinating drops added per the instructions on the bottle. After trial and error, I have come to the conclusion that what I am advising is the best method to keep your fish healthy, active and healthy.

Perfect Heater~

I've had lots of bettas before, but only recently did I learn that they should all have heaters in their tanks. I never thought about them needing heaters before, even though I've had a large 20 gallon tank with a heater, so I immediately got one. What a great purchase! This isn't bulky at all and takes up very little space in the 2 gallon tank I have now. I put a stone on the top of it to keep it stable, but other than that, it stays in place and does it's job! I recommend buying a thermometer as well to make sure the heater hasn't died (this one hasn't, but still) because unless you're feeling the water everyday, how else are you going to know? A definite necessity for all betta parents!

A MUST HAVE!

My beta fish is in a 2 gallon tank. We've had him a few months and I hadn't really realized that he needed a tank heater. But with the winter months making my house a little cooler at times, I was having to run the heat in the house more simply because I didn't want him getting too cold. I finally decided to just try this heater so that I wouldn't have to worry as much. I can't believe the difference! He is so much more active now and seriously is acting like a whole new fish! Lesson learned! This little thing is so compact and handy. So If you have a betta fish PLEASE PLEASE make sure that their tank is warm enough! I feel so bad knowing that I've been freezing the poor guy all this time!
