This is mainly made up up of chicken/turkey meal and chicken fat, bison falling in at number 10 on the ingredient list. While its a decently made dry dog food, I intentionally wanted the lamb and bison due to the fact my dogs do NOT do well with chicken which is one of the first ingredients listed on the bag, very disappointing.
I first found this food in the grocery aisle, and decided to try. We’ve been using grain free for years. We continue to find in our dogs we adopt that the skin hot spots and recurrent ear infections are diet-mitigated by a good brain free or grain free LID (limited ingredient diet). Jackson struggled for years with the aforementioned issues with skin and ears (yeast): we started with one grain free brand, which brought some relief in itching and paw kicking, but about 50-75% relief and no change in ears. We went through 2 more brands, each giving more success but no resolution with the ears. We decided to try another brand when the brand we were using went up significantly in cost last year. This one is our current winner: he eats it, skin is 90% at least good now, and his ears have FINALLY gotten better!! Another bonus: his stools are better, too- more well-formed. Only caution: the chicken flavour of this brand he LOVES, but it gives him gas. 5 stars tho!
Wow?! Chicken meal, turkey meal, chicken fat?? Bison is listed as the ninth ingredient! Pea starch!? Wow! So disappointed! I'm glad I came back to read the ingredients BEFORE this food autoshipped. I and Love and You how can you honestly call this Lamb & Bison? I expected to see those as the very first two ingredients, not lamb, chicken meal, turkey meal and then somewhere down the line bison shows up. Maybe you should change the name to, Lamb, Chicken Meal, Turkey Meal and a Little Bit of Bison (actually we just waved a picture of a bison over the kettle). Removing this stuff from my autoship ASAP! I only switched from Canidae for my little dogs because of their almost $20 price increase from my last order. Lesson learned.
Bought this brand for the first time for my dog and cat they hate it they are both refusing to eat it and my pets will eat just about anything. Dog takes a few bites and walks away, ants are also extremely attracted to this food can't leave it out for more then a few minutes before the bowl is filled with ants I've never ever had that problem before with any dog food something is up with this food my pets don't seem to trust it.
I had purchased this dry dog food at a local grocery who stopped carrying it. I am very pleased that Chewy does sell this product and the delivery was reasonable and quick!
My dog is a picky eater when it comes to kibble. He loves this one !!!
wish it was easier to find and more affordable
Rio had been eating chicken but developed an allergy. So now he eats bison and lamb and loves it. He gobbles it down as soon as I put it down for him.
Hello..pretty happy over all..my Dexter seems to enjoy it. I will sometimes change up his food every 4 to 6 months...but always order from Chewy!
My dogs love this. Great customer service
