Although you'll be anxious to see the difference can make in your dog, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more of the new food until you're feeding exclusively new food. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. Contains a source of live (viable) naturally occurring microorganisms. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.
When we first got our first dog her previous owner told us she was on purina kibble. We got her the purina one kibble for high energy dogs. She wasn’t very fond of it and we struggled with her eating sometimes. We switched her to all natural food with Ollie which she enjoyed for a couple of weeks, but then didn’t want to eat again. We were struggling with money one month and decided to get her this Iams since it was more affordable and mix in with her current food to see if she’d like it. She eats it all up and I’m so proud of her. I’ve never seen her this eager to eat and finish all her food! Will definitely keep feeding it to her and recommend to those with picky eaters.
Y’all- I tried this food because chewy had a great deal on it and I was struggling with dog food prices at the time. I don’t know what is in this food but it has made my dog do a 180 with his life. He recently had a CCL repair in early 2022 and never seemed great since. He had bad stomach issues, overall meh personality and energy after it. We switched him to this food and this dog has stopped shedding like crazy, his stomach is MUCH better, he has some pep in his step again, and his goofy personality is back. Maybe it’s a coincidence that the only thing that changed was his diet, but I’ll take it. I never thought I’d feed my dog Iams, but here I am, thankful for it.
I switched up this last order because the dog food I was buying went up more than $20 a bag. I researched for a good food and decided on this one. I mixed the two for a few weeks to get my dog use to it and the last 5 days just this new food. That said hes been sick for the past few days with diarrhea. The only treats he get are carrots and blueberries and hes been eating those for two years with no issues.
Food purchased for an 11 y.o. 120 lb. St. Bernard mix with digestive issues, primarily eating grass/vomiting about once a week. It was worse as she is older, had tried moistening food, getting smaller kibble, using devices to slow down eating, avoiding rawhide, avoiding all dental chews. Finally went to a prescription food and this stopped the problem but was very expensive. Vet suggested I could try slowing mixing the Rx food with some digestion formula and see if I could gradually transition to less costly formula. I have used other Iams brand food before and trust the brand so am very slowly transitioning with no issues so far, and to about 80% Iams. She readily eats it and stool character has stayed healthy appearing through the transition.
This is one kibble that she will eat dry. Of course, it really helps her intestinal issues.
I have 5 dogs. 2 pits, 1 Boston terrier mix, 1 Maltese mix, 1 dachshund. THEY ALL LOVE THIS FOOD. I have had the hardest time trying to get my Maltese to eat kibble without any extra toppings. THIS ONE DOES IT! I do mix their kibble with warm water and they all eat it! SO glad I found this. Love that it is affordable and good quality.
I've been checking every new dog food that gets added to Chewy for years and this is the first one that has not just met but exceeded my expectations. The first two ingredients are chicken and chicken meal, which by weight means that the majority of this food consists of real meat. The protein and fat content is in the ideal range for my moderately active dogs. Methionine keeps their urine from burning my lawn and the Sodium Hexametaphosphate helps keep their teeth clean. After having a DCM scare from feeding foods containing peas, legumes, or pulses, I feel safe feeding Iams because it doesn't use those ingredients and is formulated by experts. I appreciate a company that doesn't rely on healthy buzz words to advertise an unbalanced food and instead produces a product based on extensive research (check out Mar's Waltham Petcare Science Institute, really impressive stuff) . My dogs have shiny fur, no digestive issues, and plenty of energy without weight gain. Not only does this food tick every box for me, it's also far more affordable than other similar quality brands. I feed Iam's new Active variety to my dog competing in Agility and this to my other Aussies. As far as I'm concerned, it's the perfect food, and the dogs love it too!
I received a sample bag of the IAMs healthy digestion adult dog food to try in exchange for my honest feedback. I have a chocolate lab mix who will eat almost anything and this was no exception he gobbled this food up so fast and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it I was surprised when testing out this food that it did not upset his stomach like some other foods can. It also cost less money than the regular dog food that I currently use for him with comparable ingredients. I would consider switching him to this in the future if we needed to make a switch from our current dog food the lower price point definitely makes that tempting. Yes I recommend this food.
I have very picky eaters. And all three will eat this food. Even not eating another brand over this one. Its a keeper.
I was sent a sample for my dog to try in exchange for my honest opinion. My dog does not eat the Iams brand but it was easy enough to mix in with his regular food so the change wouldn’t upset his stomach. He did take to it and liked the flavor of it. If for some reason I was not able to find his usual brand then I would definitely consider getting him a bag of this food.
