Start by mixing 25% new food with 75% of the current formula. Slowly change the proportions over the next 3 days or so by gradually increasing the new food and lessening the amount of the current food. At the end of the weaning process, you should be feeding 100% of the new food.

It must be yummy

My picky eater rescue mix has been hard to please for the 2 years we've had her. I've tried several brands of food and had settled on Blue Buffalo lamb as I have found she prefers lamb in her food rather than chicken. As time has gone on, she stopped eating the Blue Buffalo. I had to start mixing in wet food, cheese, bacon or anything I could find to get her to eat it. Then we found Iams Lamb and Rice. WOW! She eats ALL of her food happily and I don't need to mix anything in it. Finally, I have found a food she likes.

Great for my dog

Our German Shepherd is extremely picky. When he was very young we tried several foods before finding one he would eat. After reading the book Big Kibble (great eye opening book!) we knew we needed to change foods. I was really worried he wouldn’t eat anything else. But after 10 years of the same food, JerryLee loves this one. We were so glad!

On my vet's recommendation, I switched to this formula many years ago. My Gracie was having problems with dry skin and itching and it turns out she was allergic to other forumlations of dog food and the Lamb & Rice formula addressed that issue and she's doing fine now!

I used to feed my dogs Purina Beneful until I learned that it wasn’t a healthy option. Then I found Iams and I mixed a little in the bowl with the purina to wean them into the iams and they chowed down! They get so excited when they eat now, and it’s a healthy option from what I’ve read. Definitely recommend.

My dogs were on another food that got discontinued. I ended up feeding 3 different types of food to satisfy everyone's quirks. Now they can all eat this without ill effects.

This is my 1st time trying this dog food. I had to try something for my pitt she has a sensitive stomach and allergy spots from her food. So needless to say we have tried alot food. I opened this and they went crazy for it so so far they like it. So some of the comments said it's chewys fault for the price hike, no it's not chewys fault for the price hike. That you can blame the manufacturer for. Chewy dose their best to keep prices down but they can only do so much. This food is the same price in the stores and usually more in the stores so noway shape or form is it chewys fault. It's pretty pricey I do agree but if this works for my girls then it's worth it.
