Good and well-priced
By bridgettt on Feb 12, 2021
When I adopted my kitten at 3 months (now 5 months) she was eating the Fancy Feast kitten pate. She liked it OK but I found that there was often food left on her dish between feedings. I saw that most cat foods didn't have great ingredients or nutritional values so I tried to look for something a little better that would not completely break the bank. I found the Instinct brand and decided to switch as it was pretty economical but way, way better than the previous stuff she was eating. I was a little wary because the reviews were truly not that great, but I figured I would donate it if my cat didn't like it. As soon as I switched, she became way more excited around mealtime, and she no longer grazes throughout the day or leaves food on her plate- she gobbles this up in one sitting. She has always had kibble available all day so I know it isn't a change in her hunger- she just likes it better. It also has a lot more moisture, which is nice for me since I was previously mixing the Fancy Feast with water to make it easier to eat and to increase her water intake. This is nice and soft and doesn't need the extra water. Since this only comes in one flavor and I don't want her to get bored/too comfortable with only one food, I also rotate the adult pate and she loves that as well. Zero complaints and I will continue to buy from this brand. … more

Snubbed and Yuck!
By TwoKittens on Feb 6, 2021
Have 2 rescue kittens that I hoped to provide a good diet as they were living outside under a house. Both refuse to eat this food and another which I will do a separate review on (Wellness kitten). They lick it and then walk away. I luckily bought both during a 25% sale by spending over $50 but unfortunately both cases of this food and the other literally got dumped in trash. I kept trying to sneak a can in and low and behold after eating 4 other varieties when this Instinct was on the plate it sat for the entire day until I got home from work and discarded into the trash. It ist oo pricey to risk kittens not eating-warning!

Kittten Diarrhea?
By RYMo on Dec 31, 2020
My 4 month old kitten had serious diarrhea that the rescue said is a common kitten issue. Since she was otherwise happy and healthy, and always has kibble too, their advice was to try different foods so I could get her off the pumpkin I was adding to her food. That was providing I paid close attention to the first five ingredients. The Instinct kitten food got my attention when I saw clay down in the list—a recommended remedy for diarrhea. I transitioned her very slowly, mashing in progressively less of her previous food, and three weeks later her stools were consistently normal. I still mash it for her, and now I add a touch of water for better texture. We couldn’t be happier!

Kitty Hates It!
By ArchiesMom on Dec 28, 2020
I did my research and this was listed as a top ranking food for cats in terms of nutrition and quality ingredients. I ordered a case along with a case each of two other highly ranked foods. My cat loves the other two foods but can't stand this stuff. He literally sniffs it and walks away; I've served it again and again in rotation with the other two foods and he ignores it, often staring at me and meowing. He will follow me around and complain as if he hasn't been fed! After several attempts I had to give up - he just won't eat it. I will say that I always add warm water to the pate I'm serving him and it always integrates well, turns into a nice gravy; With this stuff, it doesn't integrate well I did my research and this was listed as a top ranking food for cats in terms of nutrition and quality ingredients. Instinct Kitten food stinks
By Instinct on Feb 3, 2021
I just got two new kittens and hadn't bought kitten food in awhile. I tried Instinct because it was rated high and not crazy expensive, but not cheap. It is far from "pate". It is very chunky and gave my kittens horrible gas, when I could get them to eat it.

My Kitten APPROVES!
By Chewy on Feb 9, 2021
I highly recommend this cat food. The first ingredient is chicken and there’s several other meats incorporated into it to widen your fur baby’s variety of flavor. My kitten loves this! He’s a healthy, happy boy

Won't touch this
By AnotherWendy on Jan 17, 2021
I recently bought several flavors/ brands of Kitten food as my little guy was no longer eating his normal one with much enthusiasm. He ate this the first time I put it down for him, but won't touch it since. My adult cats don't show any interest in it either. It's a good food, if your kittens will eat it.

Pate is hard to eat for my cats
By Joyce on Jan 24, 2021
Idk what's wrong with this canned food but the pate seems too condensed to eat? Every time I fed my cats, they just licked the top watery part and left the food there, stick on the bowl. Usually, with other canned food, they will finish what they have in their bowl.

Wanted to love it....
By Halily on Dec 1, 2020
I did a great deal of research when picking a kitten food for my new baby, I wanted high quality meat with no unnecessary fillers and I wanted it to be as ethically raised as possible. I was excited about this kitten food and set up autoship. My kitten will eat anything so I wasn't worried about the switch. He turned his nose up at this and seemed to think it didn't smell like food. I don't blame him. It smells absolutely disgusting. I had to plug my nose while preparing it. It's also with noting there are tiny bones in it. The company says they are ground up small enough to be safe and it's natural for cats to eat bones but it's worth considering whether you are okay with that or not. for adult cats?
By scat on Jan 18, 2021
We have at times fussy cats when it comes to wet food. Thought they'd go for kitten food. They DID NOT like this brand at all. None of them did! One tasted it and that's as far as it went. And we have a clowder.
