Why is there clay in it?
Answer by ChewyFeb 27, 2019
Montmorillonite clay is a natural ingredient often used in human health foods and sometimes also found in natural pet foods. It is the primary component of a volcanic ash known as betonite, which has been deposited into inland sea waters. Instead of using a man-made anti-caking agent, montmorillonite clay is a natural anti-caking agent. It comes from natural sources and is not made from chemicals like the others. It is a natural, safe alternative.

changed recipe

First, I thought maybe it was the summer, that my cats are eating less. Then all my cats are not eating their food. I finally notice something was wrong. New Recipe is absolutely disgraceful! I was a loyal instinct customer until now. I guess greed do takes over quality. Not cool instinct. Not cool.

Product of Thailand - What!

Yes, that what's on the case. Based on the American kitchen advertisement one would think this would be produced in America. First appearance product seems oily. Otherwise color, smell and texture are acceptable. Kittens eat it along with kibble. Will continue to look at other brands for quality/price balance.

Not good cat food

Our kittens will not eat this cat food. Hoping it is regulated and tested because even though the smell is ok my old girl that will eat anything will not touch it.

Kittens love this wet food

Our kittens go crazy over this food. Some cans have a little more oil in them but they could care less. Eat every bit of this wet food every serving

Kitty Didn't Like It

My old wet food I used to buy is now out of stock so I tried Instinct. My kitty at first did eat but slowly would stop eating after a few bites, not sure why. I then put out a bowl of his old wet food to compare and he fully finished the old food. So all in all, my kitty was not a fan of this.

Only Wet Food My Kittens Will Eat

This is the only wet food my 2 Maine Coon kittens will eat. I’ve tried switching them to other brands but they refuse to eat anything else. They were first fed this food when they were weaned and are now 8 months old. They are very healthy and are thriving in all ways. Our old ginger boy (15 yrs old) also loves this food and is finally putting on weight after being too skinny for a few years as he used to throw up a lot due to IBD.

Solid food, all my cats seem to like it

I bought this as another option to have in my array of kitten food and they absolutely love it (as does my senior cat). Their fur looks really good, they seem to have plenty of energy, and the dish is usually licked clean.

It's gray..

My hungry kitten never leaves food left in his bowl except this one. The color isn't great, which is ok if he likes it, but... Also through his poop looks okay, but he goes way more frequently when he eats this one. I'd like to return them.

Contaminated cans

I purchased a case of 3 oz 24 cans. I found several cans crushed and two cans expanded and bulging. The bulging cans are definitely contaminated with bacteria producing gas. Luckily I noticed these bad cans so my kitten did not eat contaminated food.
