My cat has eaten this food for years but the formula changed and now it contains chicken, which she can't have. Very disappointed to have to find a new food my picky, geriatric cat with IBD will tolerate.
This was a trial product for my home. I haven't used the product before, but I have used this brand. The brand goes over really well for my oldest cat. The duck pate upon opening doesn't look like other pate's. It is pretty smooth looking, my oldest cat didn't seem to care at all. This product is also a winner in my home,
Small cans no longer made in the USA and the formulation changed (smooth, gelatinous texture instead of small chunky meat texture). Cats will no longer eat this product.
Idk what's up with Instinct lately, but my cat won't have anything to do with it. He won't eat the rabbit and now he won't eat this either. I can't say if it's good or bad. Just that MY cat won't eat it.
my kitten only likes the duck flavor of this series of cans, also it really helped him gain weight, good nutrition i guess
I reached out to customer service because my cats stopped eating it and the texture is weird like soft pudding. The label says "product of Thailand" instead of the USA like it used to say. Customer service confirmed they opened plants in Thailand so that's where it is made now. Very disappointing.
My cats loved this brand’s rabbit flavor until one day they didn’t. We switched to the duck and they loved that until this latest case of 3oz cans. Now they don’t even want to sniff it. My local pet store has some old formula left and I guess I’ll buy those up while I try to make the third food migration in six months. This brand is too pricey to keep rolling the dice. I’m disappointed because the cats were thriving and I love a quality food I can stock up on at Chewy but also find in my rural community if I run out before my next autoship.
My kitties love this! Instinct was recommended by a pet nutritionist since switching we no longer have allergic issues.
We always buy instinct brand wet cat food because our cats are intolerant to chicken. But they quietly changed their recipe and the “original real duck recipe” has chicken now! They needed to make this a lot more clear on their product description
My cat has been loving this food for years. This winter they were out of the 3 oz cans so I had to get the 5.5 oz cans. Food was hard, like a hockey puck. He reluctantly ate it. Finally, the 3 oz cans were back in stock! Unfortunately, the formula changed again, this time to a pudding-like texture. So disgusting, my cat will barely touch that. I’m at a loss. What happened to the old formula, soft pate with gravy? The larger cans are too hard, the smaller cans are too soft and Goldilocks over here is looking for “just right!” Big time fail, instinct!
