They were not pleased!
By Joyce on Jan 20, 2021
Always looking for a quality food for my three cats, that isn't too expensive, but not cheap. I thought this one looked like it might be a winner. Wrong! None of my cats likes it, even my girl that usually cleans everyone else's dish. Don't know if it is the flavor, or the texture (pate), but they leave it in the dish until it dries up or I throw it away. It sounded like a good quality food, but that doesn't do any good if for whatever reason they won't eat it. Also, every can in the package was dented! None was broken so guess they were still good. Oh well, back to the hunt!

Very Meaty! Yum!
By Number1 on Feb 7, 2021
Strawberry is 17 and has stenosis of the esophagus so she needs pates that flow down easily. Also, her taste buds seem to do her no favor. However, she needs to put on weight, has itchy skin, and I felt she needed some meats and oils and higher calories. This is quite meaty (I can see liver in it.) and I was afraid it might come back up, but didn't. And she loves it! Was "pigging", she loved it so much, so had to pick it up. So happy!

Excellent for weight gain
By TammyJ on Feb 23, 2021
So happy I tried this for my kitty. She has been eating it for just over a week now and she loves it and I can see she is already putting on weight! She was always a heavy eater but didn't seem to put any weight on until she started eating this food. I'm one happy Mama of a 14 year old feline! <3

Sweet Kitty crossed the rainbow bridge :(
By ChewyShopper on Feb 7, 2021
I had 2 kitties, very picky. Both liked this for a while, then the younger one decided he didn't like it anymore. My 18 1/2 year old sweet kitty crossed the rainbow bridge a few weeks ago, so I am donating my recent order to our local shelter. My other kitty is 14 in April. I'm still grieving, but so glad we still have our little buddy to give extra love to.

Yum yum, I love it.
By VictoriaS on Jan 3, 2021
My FB does certainly enjoy her food, in fact I have never seen her reject downright any food. She was a little hesitant to dig into this particular food, but certainly did like it well enough to finish it off. I can’t say it is her favourite food, but certainly she eats it with no issues or leaving some in her bowl. Every cat’s taste bud tastes are different so a food which pleases one cat may indeed get the “no thank you” from another. I always suggest trying something and if it doesn’t work out for your cat(s), donate the food to a shelter or rescue group. They will definitely appreciate it.

Meh not Meow
By Ahsasasha on Jan 11, 2021
Oh well, it's healthy enough and it was a "deal of the day" so I'm not out too much. And the puppies love it, but that usually involves the thrill of stealing... Maybe because it's pate and not shreds in gravy? I don't know... but my three unanimously hold out for the American Journey combination seafood and poultry in gravy. It's healthy and a good price so I still recommend it if you're a pate user because it slips out easily with little mess.

Great quality cat food
By Kelly on Feb 7, 2021
My cat is about 17 years old so finding a brand she actually seems to like is tricky. She loves this stuff though! Never had an issue with it. The quality of the food is top of the line too. Ever since I started her on this food her dandruff has 100% vanished and she is twice as energetic.

Owner approved. Cat not so much
By Cats on Feb 1, 2021
So I have been looking for a new cat food for a while. One that has healthier ingredients. Why I picked this brand. But my cat who normally is a chow hound and will eat anything always leaves half in his bowl. Probably nothing wrong with the food though.

Found Instinct Original!
By Kate on Jan 10, 2021
I am grateful to have found Instinct Original Grain-Free Pate Real Chicken Wet Canned Food at Chewy! My local pet food supplier has gone out of business, due to the pandemic, so I was thrilled to see the products I purchased were all available at Chewy. My cat has a delicate digestive system and I've tried multiple varieties of food. Instinct has, by far, the best record for tolerance.

Not enthused
By Leta on Jan 1, 2021
I have two cats (both about 1.5 year old). They like the pate texture in their canned food, which I alternate with dry food in their diet. I have used the Instinct Grain Free Chicken Pate for a few months now plus another type of salmon-based canned food, but recently they just stopped eating the chicken one, unless they are very hungry. I guess it's time for a change. I will be returning that last supply, unfortunately.
