This is not the freshest ingredients. There are some additional ingredients that are not helpful for an animal who needs a very basic diet of ingredients. Our dog started bleeding. It was in serious pain after eating this product for a few days. We are now back to cooking her food to ensure that she stays as healthy as possible. Just be aware, read all of the ingredients, and make sure that a dog can handle it. Yes, likely a dog that eats canned dog food or dry dog food is OK. But special diet, take consideration
after months of wrestling with Pepper at mealtimes, this was awesome. It's too expensive to feed her regularly on this, so I have to come up with something else in the meantime. Gee though, I wish it was more affordable. :(
We received this JustFoodForDogs Chicken & White Rice dog food for free in exchange for our honest review. It’s been really hard to find something I can feed our 6 year old Dalmatian and our 1 year old pit. They both have completely different nutrition requirements and this food actually meets both. I had to do a really slow transition though because the first couple of times I fed this, they both threw up. I think it’s because of how fast they demolished it. Fresh chicken & rice probably tastes 100 times better than dried dog food. Also - this doesn’t turn my stomach like the canned dog food does. Now I can split one package in half and they both love it. The ingredients list is ACTUAL food - not loaded with by products and chemicals which makes me feel good. I still give them dry food in the morning and the fresh food in the evening but plan on switching them over completely. Highly recommend!
My cockpoo Sadee loves this meal, though she has been having it for less than month. She looks forward to her meals. Would highly recommend for any finnicky fur baby!
Let's start with the packaging because I was definitely impressed! The box was padded all around with dry ice to keep the food cold and fresh. Once I had thawed one of the packets, I mixed it with my dog's dry food and she went BANANAS, She really loved it! She actually took her time to chew the food (she usually just swallows it). Even one hour later, she went back to her plate and started it to cling it, as if she was asking for more. You are able to see the ingredients you are feeding your fur baby (rice, chicken, carrots, etc) which is great! Since she started Just Food For Dogs, shes been more active, as she is a senior dog. Her stool came out great, firm but soft. This is the first time I have fed my dog whole ingredients. I have done can food in the past, which is highly processed. Nothing compares to the quality of Just Food for Dogs. Would definitely buy this product Disclosure: I received the product for free in exchange for writing a review.
My vet recommended Just Food for Dogs products that have grain for my dog's heart health. The chicken and rice is a favorite either frozen or in the box. And my dog's poops are daily now with good consistency. This is a win-win for my dog and myself.
I'm not a fan of green veggies. This food was not as pictured. Instead it was the color of army green. I refused to eat it -- even with mom trying to spoon feed me (that trick usually works). I gave it away to "Mikey" (he eats anything) on Freecycle. I've told my mom -- way too stinky for me. I'm a Husky not a vegetarian. woof! LOL
