Destroyed in 5 minutes
I’m always on the lookout for a chew toy that will last. My rescue is half German Shepherd and can destroy most toys with ease. Kongs generally last a few weeks, but there are only so many different designs, so I try to explore other options once in a while to keep my dog entertained. I ordered the Heavyweight version of this chew toy yesterday. It arrived an hour ago, so I proceeded to wash it and start a game of fetch with my dog. Within a few short minutes, she had managed to tear off a piece at the end that broke off into two penny-sized chunks of thick rubber. My expectations for toys marketed as “long-lasting” and “durable” aren’t for them to last forever with my dog. I don’t even expect them to last months. However, I do expect them to last longer than 5 minutes. Especially when other manufacturers offer products proven to last at least a few weeks with my dog before becoming damaged and needing to be thrown away. So it’s clearly possible to create a “durable” toy within this price range. This product really let me down. I was excited for it too. Oh, well. If your dog is a light chewer, they will love this chew toy. But if they’re a moderate chewer or higher, I advise you stay clear of this one. And always monitor your dogs with their toys!
The Catara Test
Bought this, then read the reviews..was discouraged bit thought we’ll see. 48 hours later and it’s still intact! Catara is a young pup and needless to say, loses interest in things-quick! this has held her attention longer than I expected. Happy with it!
sadly, didn't last
One of our british labs enjoyed this Heavyweight for a day or two, but sadly, the it didn't last a few hours with one of our other labs. I wouldn't consider either of them big "chewers", either. It DID say it was for Medium breeds, but that should not really matter as Medium breeds can be major chewers.
smaller than I thought
I have this toy for my lab and she loves peanut butter smeared on it as a treat. I ordered medium size and I am sure it is my fault for assuming medium was the size I previously bought. This is really too small for my lab. I will need to buy the largest size and pay attention to measurements. Otherwise my dog loves her old one.
Great toy!
My dog just loves this toy. He carries it around all over the place and loves to chew on it. It's very durable, but I wouldn't recommend it for a very strong chewer or a very large dog.
Not for chewers
Our Rottie loves her new toy but it lasted a few play sessions and we’ll have to throw it out. Watch your dog while playing with it! It’s not heavy duty.
Heavyweight Not For Heavyweight Dogs!
I would have thought that a toy classed as "heavyweight" would be made with "heavyweight" dogs in mind. NOT so... My 9 month Giant Schnauzer made short work of this in under fifteen. I then spent over fifteen gathering all of the chewed up pieces! Thank you Chewy for the refund though..
Surprisingly durable
This has been a pleasant surprise for my aggressive chewers!! My pups loves it and it is still in one piece so far!! Great toy for the price.

Was super hesitant bc our 1 yr super hyper lab looooooves to chew/bite/eat everything! We’ve gone thru sooo many different brands and types of toys but this one def suprised us! It lasted about 3 months, with everyday play use/was durable to where he would chew but it would barely be damaged. He def loved to play with it and putting pb or treats inside also kept him entertained. Will buy again forsure.
Dog chewed it up
If you have a chewer skip on this one. Lab chewed it up and started to eat the rubber pieces.
