These little feather guys showed up after people moved out down the road appearing rather friendly but wings ragged. Upon researching it looks like angel wing and lack of nutrition which isnt surprising with the economy and people labeling them invasive but extremely domesticated too around here . They were trying to steal catfood from some abandoned tnr cats so I am trying to get these ducks to transition to their proper dietary needs instead of kaboodle remnants. This food arrived fast so I rushed it there to give them a sample. I think they rather enjoyed it and will keep them from eating the abandoned cats daily food and on every block due to not enough homes and too many cats and a horrible economy going on. Please go Save a cat, save a duck. Or Someone please come open another sanctuary here. These little guys are pretty adorable and they are like a dramatic Duck comedy team and sometimes Duckside story.
I was told that my order would be here by Saturday, for which I have autoship but today I’m told not until Monday?? That’s 6 days away. Fortunately my daughter got me duck feed ( that I don’t like to use) because I was expecting the feed within the promised 3 days and I’m out. Not happy about that but I do like the duck feed that I get from you.
So far out of all the duck foods I have researched and compared protein percentages calcium percentages and so on.... this is a perfect food to feed growing ducks or maintenance *Or during the season when your female ducks are not laying*. This is a healthy food. Some ducks will not like it if they are being fed and unhealthy diet of high protein and cracked corn and so on. So there will be ducks that will snub it. Of course they will go for the McDonald's version of food compared to a healthier version of food. For laying ducks I have not found a duck food anywhere of any brand that has the right calcium percentage. I still use layer feed during egg laying season.
I ordered too many bags of feed for my ducks and geese to eat. I emailed Chewy and they refunded me for the extra bags, no questions asked. And on another occasion they refunded me for a bag that ripped in the mail. They were very friendly. And my geese love the Kalmbach feed. They prefer it to anything else and they wait at the door every morning for it.
The wild ducks and geese that I feed near the work office don't eat it! I used to buy 'Brown's Bird Lover's Blend Duck & Goose Food' before and they ate it, especially the corn. But they do not eat this food! It's not good for wild birds I think.
It would be helpful if they put in the description that the pellets do not float! Considering this is duck and geese food it would be nice to read that it doesn't float and they only like it a little bit. Most of the ducks took a few bites and walked away. However, the squirrels and bunny's seem to like it so it's not too bad I guess.
My 7 Pekin and 1 Rouen ducks love this stuff! They are only 8 weeks old and have been on this feed for 3. I previously had problems with the pekins getting enough niacin but since switching to this feed, they've been doing so much better! Only weird thing about the feed is it smells like marinara!
my ducks love this and eat it like crazy. The only issue I have is there is an awful lot of dust!
I feed muscovy, mottled, mallards, black belly whistling ducks. I tried this instead of cracked corn. The smell is weird, the ducks hardly touched it. It turned to mush after it rained, which required removal because it attracted flies. Will not purchase again.
The Kalmbach All Natural Duck and Goose Food - seems to be good on taste for my Rescue Ducks "Ducky and Lucky" 2 precious Ducks we Rescued as Babies and are now 2 years old and live on our 1 Acre "Springfed Lake" The Problem with this Food is - IT ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT FLOAT- WHICH POSES A BIG PROBLEM FOR DUCKS THATCARE NOT PINNED UP...
