Can my cat eat these ?

Answer by ChewyFeb 18, 2025
Although these sticks are all-natural, do not let your pet eat them. Take the sticks away from the pet if the pet tries to eat the product. Always supervise your pet while using.

My cats could care less about catnip, but they love silvervine. I've bought plain silvervine sticks in the past, and they enjoyed those. But they seemed to enjoy these even more with the crushed fruit on the outside. The only downside is that they're kind of messy because the fruit crumbles off the stick as the cats chew on it.

Splintery, and cats don't really care for it

I have two cats who are big time chewers and biters (they love electric cords, eek!) that I hoped this would provide a healthy alternative for, but 1. they don't really care about these sticks when shown and played with with them, and 2. these sticks are very dry, so when bitten, they splinter very easily and make me very scared that they could get swallowed and stuck. I definitely wouldn't recommend letting cats play with these unsupervised.

These are the best.

Sable and Tanner haven't really seemed to care about other silvervine sticks but they go crazy for these. They carry them everywhere and play steal each other's

My cat liked it.

One of my cats was crazy about it. She is 8 years old. The other 16 yr old cat wasn't phased a bit. It's a hit or a miss on whether a cat will like it or not. I

One of my cats was crazy about it. She is 8 years old. The other 16 yr old cat wasn't phased a bit. It's a hit or a miss on whether a cat will like it or not. I give it 10 out of 10. Be careful if you have dogs and cats. Dogs will steal it and shred it to pieces and possibly ingest it.

My cat like to chew things

I thought I would try a chew cat toy -- She loves them but flings them around and they end up under the funiture. I like giving her a safe outlet for chewing.

Vanya Not Excited About These

Vanya does not respond much to catnip but she does to silver one when it’s a powder form and rubbed into felted toys.

I first introduced one stick to my cat and she proceeded to rub her face all over it for about a minute, and then didn't engage with it anymore. The next day, I tried giving her several new sticks from the same package, and she sniffed and walked away. Not sure if it's the product quality or if she doesn't care for silvervine.

Silvervine

Unfortunately, my cat doesn't care for catnip. I've read many cats don't. I wish I could get the silvervine sticks or the blooms. Then maybe my cat would like it

Unfortunately, my cat doesn't care for catnip. I've read many cats don't. I wish I could get the silvervine sticks or the blooms. Then maybe my cat would like it. I was thinking about washing off the catnip that the stick is covered in. Also thinking about steeping it like a tea and see if he likes that.
