A fantastic alternative for those picky eaters!
First up, I want to say that from the moment you open the can you tell this is real food. You can see this shredded chicken, the pieces of carrot... truly delicious
First up, I want to say that from the moment you open the can you tell this is real food. You can see this shredded chicken, the pieces of carrot... truly delicious ingredients complimented by a rich chicken broth. It does have quite a bit of broth, almost too much, but it makes a fantastic topper on top of kibble. That extra broth gives the kibble, a nice saucy texture. My chiweenie absolutely loved it. Some other variations would be to top this over rice, which is super helpful when she's having a little bit of an upset stomach, as well as just serving it on its own. It's very nutritious, fortified with everything you'd want to see in your pup's food. After several weeks of trying this in different variations, this one is a sure winner, especially if your pup has a sensitive stomach and needs whole food.

This is a huge hit with my little chihuahuas, Minnie and Bill. They absolutely love KOHA Pure Shreds Chicken and Beef. They are so excited for dinner. I mix it with their regular kibble. They both digest it really well. It looks like real food...for people! It looks like and is shredded chicken in a light gravy. The first ingredient is chicken and the 2nd one is chicken broth. The rest are all simple, straightforward ingredients-pumpkin, beef, spinach, carrots and vitamins. There aren't any starchy ingredients. I think any picky eater would love the Pure Shreds. Even the cat tries to get to it. Minnie & Bill do not leave any leftovers, though. Highly recommend KOHA Pure Shreds!

My girls absolutely loved this food. When I first opened the can I was a bit skeptical because it seemed the food had “settled” and I wasn’t sure if the pups would like it. But when I put my fork in to mix it up, the food came to life (so to speak). The food looks very much like what it’s called…shreds of chicken and beef. I put some in a bowl and my girls gobbled it up. I have a big dog and a little one and they both were thrilled. It was almost like I fed them food from my dinner plate. The shreds were meaty and the broth was juicy. I like to change up their wet food every once in a while and this one will definitely stay in the rotation.
Much better than rotisserie chicken for Louis!

He actually licks the bowl clean - Should say to stir it before using - all of the liquids are at the top. I like the convenience of pull top. I used to give Louis rotisserie chicken, but after giving him Pure Shreds, I actually tasted it, and I realized how salty the rotisserie chicken was! Not good. It is an excellent product and I will purchase it again for him for special days. Normally I give him freeze dried raw and age appropriate kibble, but this is such a treat and he likes it so much. I wanted to wait to write a review until I had some information - I am careful about changing foods to avoid stomach upset and slowly changed to dry kibble and Shreds. His stools remained normal and no upset stomach or gas was noticed. Great Product, very low sodium and he loves it - would purchase to incorporate with his normal diet.

I’ve been giving the Koha chicken & beef shreds to my picky shiba inu for a couple of weeks now, just as a food topper to his dry food, to keep a steady weight on
I’ve been giving the Koha chicken & beef shreds to my picky shiba inu for a couple of weeks now, just as a food topper to his dry food, to keep a steady weight on him and to increase his water intake since he drinks too little water (85% moisture content in one can). He’s enjoyed it and hasn’t turned his nose up to it yet (so far), and because the meat is thinly shredded, he can’t pick it out — bonus! It also hasn’t given his sensitive stomach any digestion problems, either, which can be an issue for him. I like to experiment which brands and flavors my dog likes best by using a slow feeder that’s segmented where I can put different flavors in a different section, and so far this Koha flavor has ranked in the top. I would, however, advise shaking it first before opening it to distribute the juices evenly, as the broth and meat shreds can separate a little while in storage. Also, I like that it’s on the healthier side, as it does contain some veggies, like spinach, carrots and pumpkin, that I can see are mixed in and doesn’t contain peas or potatoes. It’s also not too calorically dense for my aging 8-year-old and isn’t too high in fat either.

I know she would devour it if we offered it as a full meal also. I could definitely see us purchasing this again!
Dogs love it but a couple cautions
I wanted to start by saying that the feeding instructions on these cans has got to be wrong. 1 can per 7 pounds of body weight per day???? So my 55 pound dog should
I wanted to start by saying that the feeding instructions on these cans has got to be wrong. 1 can per 7 pounds of body weight per day???? So my 55 pound dog should get 8 cans a day??? And our tiny 6 pound dog getting a full can a day isn’t realistic either. This needs to be reevaluated. The good stuff: My GS mix loved this stuff. She’s not typically super excited about mealtime, but adding a bit of this as a topper, she gobbled up her dish of food. It looks like shredded chicken soup and smells like it too. She hasn’t had a problem with her excrements after the fact either. The other side of the story: my tiny Yorkie mix also loved this stuff and gobbled up her food with a tbsp of this on top. Unfortunately, after a day or so, her feces became quite soft and mucousy. She was also rubbing her behind on the floor more frequently, likely because her behind couldn’t stay clean. So, in our experience, this food seems to be great for larger dogs; not so much for the little ones. But every dog is different; so your experience may be different! Just be careful about giving your 100 pound dog 14 cans of this stuff a day.

My adult dog enjoyed this product. As per the instructions on the can, it said to feed 1 can per 7 lbs. My dog weighs 77 lbs. so that ment 11 cans per day which was not feasible. Instead, I used it as a topper for his dry food and he could not wait for his breakfast each morning. He can be a picky eater but this product was not a problem with him. The shreds were easy to blend with his dry food. I would purchase this product in the future.

Great dog food. I was surprised when I opened the can and saw real shredded chicken & beef! There's little pieces of vegetables too. I like that there's a good amount of broth to this. It makes it easy to mix with dry food and the broth coats the kibble well. Roxie likes it very much & highly recommends it!
