The reason I am only giving this 3 stars is because I made a mistake. I thought this was more of a coco husk, I didn't realize it was similar to soil. Long story

The reason I am only giving this 3 stars is because I made a mistake. I thought this was more of a coco husk, I didn't realize it was similar to soil. Long story short, I soaked all 6 bricks in a large bucket and I made completely useless cement... It was a total mess and now I have to figure out what I am going to do with a huge bucket of brown cement. Money wasted, but lesson learned!

Good substrates tend to be really expensive, but I find this to be an outlier. It's fluffy, covers a lot of space (especially when mixed with other substrates) and

Good substrates tend to be really expensive, but I find this to be an outlier. It's fluffy, covers a lot of space (especially when mixed with other substrates) and is visually appealing to boot. The only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 stars from me is because it was a bit messy to set up. It uses water to expand, and can go from moist to sopping wet very quickly. But with a bit of patience I found it to be pretty manageable.
